This is a Guest Post by the super amazing One Hundred Dollars a Month reader Mel. We LOVE you Mel! Thank you for all your wonderful posts How to Make a Snowman Pizza.
If you find yourself with a snow day (or a regular day that you wish had snow), this is a fun idea to try. I first made it Christmas Eve when I wanted something sort of fun and seasonal but also fast and easy since I had a lot going on the following day for Christmas dinner. But it turned out so cute that I make it at least once a winter now. This is a super simple idea, so it doesn’t really require a full tutorial or recipe, but I thought I’d share how I make it.

Ingredients
One batch of pizza dough (I use this one, but any will do, including store bought)
Pizza sauce (I use Mavis’s recipe and keep it in my freezer in pizza-sized portions)
Cheese (I do a mix of provolone and mozzarella, but it doesn’t matter as long as it’s white like snow)
Toppings (I used pepperoni and olives here)
Instructions
Divide the dough into three balls—one small, one medium, and one large.
Flatten and shape each ball into a circle. Overlap the circles slightly on a baking sheet and press them together where they meet. They don’t really need to adhere, so it’s okay if they pull away a bit (hey, we’ve all had a snowman tip over and need to be reassembled.)
Add your sauce.
Add your toppings and cheese to make it look like a snowman. I used olives for the eyes, mouth, and buttons since they resemble coals, and I used a sliver of pepperoni for a nose. In this case, I actually put most of the toppings under the cheese so I could still have a snowy-looking exterior while still having even coverage of toppings, but you can do plain cheese with just a few toppings on top if you prefer. You can also get creative with the toppings so you have better coverage while still making it look like a snowman (a pepperoni vest or scarf would be adorable).
Bake your pizza according to the instructions for your crust recipe (I typically do 400 degrees for 17 minutes, but I like softer crust). Then cool slightly, slice, and enjoy!
Notes
Instead of one large snowman, make several small ones so each person gets their own. You might need a larger batch of dough and slightly shorter cook time for this.
Make white pizza for an extra snowy look. I love this white pizza sauce recipe with crumbled Italian sausage and finely minced fresh rosemary.
If your family only likes cheese pizza, you could use small cookie cutters to cut shapes out of slices of cheddar or another yellow cheese for the features.

What are the bungie cords in the freezer doing?
Mel says
The door on that freezer doesn’t have a stop mechanism, so it would swing all the way open and crash into the table next to it. So, the cord just keeps it from flying all the way open. I could probably replace the mechanism, but sometimes it’s convenient to be able to open the door extra wide (like to slide a sheet pan in), so we haven’t bothered.
