Is it just me, or is this summer zipping by? Seriously. How can it be mid July already?
This week I did a little bartering with Mrs. HB, picked up some meat from Zaycon, stocked up on sale items and harvested a bunch of goodness out of the garden. All in all it was a good week for groceries. Peaches and blueberries are on sale at Fred Meyer this week and so I plan on picking some up, but other than those items, I think I am going to try and stay away from the grocery stores this week. I need to start to work on repairing some of the overspending on groceries I’ve been doing this summer. 😉
Here’s what I picked up this week:
Albertsons $13.49
Have I ever told you Lucy LOVES pizza crust? Yes, yes she does and she knew exactly what was in the box too. 😉 Pizza was 3 for $10 and Zoi Greek yogurt $3.49 {the HH LOVES it}.
Albertsons $6.96
If you need eggs Albertsons has them on sale for $0.99 a dozen this week and Lucerne yogurt 4 for $1 with the in ad coupons.
Fred Meyer $14.42
Last week we snagged milk and OJ for $0.99 per half gallon, bulk oats $0.59 a pound and bulk salt for $0.59 a pound. We also picked up grapes, zucchini, discounted sour cream and a couple of Fred Meyer friday freebies which brought the total to $14.42.
Barter with Mrs. HB
I trade Mrs. HB some tomato trellis I wasn’t using for some loot!!
Zaycon Pulled Pork – Free thanks to credit

We love those powercakes, but they can be a little bit bland. I add in some vanilla extract to boost up the flavor.

The chili looks fantastic. Except for it’s so hot right now.

isn’t it cheaper to buy the Kodiak pancakes at Costco? we love zaycon foods, I have their ground turkey ordered for September, I am ordering their kielbasa and their shrimp, cant wait to try those…still have chicken breast from my last order…I had the coupon for the safeway pizza and totally spaced before it expired:( I still cant get our budget to 100 a week for just the two of us and I cook cheaply
