Last week I was away from home “teaching” and visiting friends and I have a boatload of things to tell you about {that totally don’t belong in a grocery recap post} so I’ll try and stay on track and just talk about the grocery side of things for now.
Before I headed out of town I filled the cookie jar with 3 dozen cookies for the boys {which were all gone of course when I got home}.
I also cleaned out the fridge and prepared and tossed items {like the spinach above} into the freezer so stuff wouldn’t go bad while I was away. Taking a couple of minutes to bag up leftovers like corn and baked beans that I know they won’t eat or incorporate into another meal while I’m gone, just makes sense.
The boys don’t cook when I’m out of town but they will heat stuff up in the microwave.
I also whipped up a few of their favorites like spaghetti and chicken and made sure there were simple things like soup, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and chicken taquitos for them to eat. Boys are funny.
Here’s what I ate last week for my 2 main meals {snacks not included}:

Fred Meyer – Free
Last week Kroger offered a “freebie download” item each day {usually they just offer one item each Friday}. Wahooo! The Trident gum is going in my “stocking stuffer stash” for Monkey Boy.
Fred Meyer – Exchange
Remember those eggs I bought last week for just $1.19 a dozen? Well one box of the eggs had 2 broken eggs and 3 of the eggs were stuck to the box and I couldn’t get them out. So I simply brought the eggs back and got a replacement dozen.
Daisy Whole Wheat Pastry Flour – FREE
Valerie {who I’ll write about in another post} sent me home with 4 bags of Daisy Organic Whole Wheat Pastry Flour. How nice was that?
How about YOU? How did you do this week and the stores?

That’s pretty sweet! This was an expensive week for me – a little over $100. 2 trips to Costco. And now I’m out of coffee. Hm…
That pizza looks really really good.
