How We Spend Less Than $100 a Month on Groceries Week 45 of 52

Last week was pretty RAD shopping wise. You want to know why? Because the only thing on my shopping list was milk…. and that is the only thing I purchased. I LOVE it when that happens, don’t you?

Albertsons $3.98

I popped into Albertsons the day after Halloween for milk {it was on sale for $1.99 a gallon} and left with my 2 gallons of milk and a boatload of FREE squash {about 92 pounds to be exact!!}. I used some to decorate the front porch and the others will be gobbled up.

Cracking the squash open was quite the ordeal though…

I had to bring out the hatchet.

I ended up roasting {and then pureeing} two of the eating pumpkins and placed the other 3 in the garage to use later this winter.

I also snagged a free bag of sugar thanks to a freebie coupon from Main and Vine. I was in the area dropping off some books and popped in for the freebie. 🙂 It was a good week!

Here are the meals I ate last week: {minus snacks}

Monday

Breakfast – Oatmeal with blueberries
Lunch – Peanut butter sandwich
Dinner – Chicken, rice and carrots

Tuesday

Breakfast – Smoothie
Lunch – I have no idea
Dinner – Ham, sweet potatoes, corn and brown bread

Wednesday

Breakfast – Dave’s killer bread, toasted with butter
Lunch – Split pea and ham soup
Dinner – Split pea and ham soup with brown bread

Thursday

Breakfast – Triple berry smoothie
Lunch – Leftover split pea soup
Dinner – Waffles, bacon and eggs

Friday

Brunch – French toast with pears, maple syrup and whip cream {date day with Mrs. HB}
Dinner – Pasta and crusty bread

Saturday

Breakfast – Oatmeal with blueberries
Linner – Grilled cheese, tomato soup and salad {date day with my dad}

Sunday

Brunch – Eggs, bacon, pancakes and apple slices
Dinner – Meatball sandwich
