Have you seen this video of Ellie Cole?
Ellie was waiting for her bus when someone secretly filmed her sweet dance moves. She had no idea. Once the video went viral, she landed a part in the musical AH Men at The Point Theatre, Eastleigh. You can read the article HERE.
Another interesting story from the UK…
If you live in Northhampton, England and are afraid of clowns, you might want not want leave your house anytime soon. It’s been reported that a 50+ year old man has been roaming around town dressed as a clown. Which I suppose isn’t really all that odd if he made balloon animals or it was Halloween. But this clown just stands there. That’s it. He stands in one spot and stares at people with his white makeup and red wig.
There has been no word yet about where he lives. My bets are a storm drain though.
You can read more about the Northhampton clown HERE and HERE.
Is it just me, or do the British have all the fun?

Um, No way! I am so glad I don’t live in Northampton, England. You’re right, Mavis. He may just live in that storm drain!
He just looks so creepy.
Cecily says
I’m sorry but is it really necessary to presume that because a person is doing something different from the societal “norm” that they are homeless, or a bum or a creep. It wasn’t too long ago that people who tried to leave as little impact on the environment as possible were thought of as hippies or members of communes. The man isn’t harming anyone. Let’s show a little tolerance people. Okay, rant over.
Heather says
It is actually a book reference not a anyone making a stereotype joke. His costume looks like the clown from Stephen King’s IT (he even says so himself if you read the article) who happens to live in a storm drain.
No one was showing a lack of tolerance – they had just clearly read the book this man loves.
Mavis Butterfield says
Hey Cecily, it was all in fun, and was a reference the the Stephen King Novel. 🙂
Cecily says
Thanks. I haven’t read the book and did not realize it was a reference to the character’s residence. Appreciate the correction 😉
Jenifer says
Cecily, the storm drain reference is from Stephen Kings IT (Pennywise the clown lived in the storm drains) and where as I agree with you that he is/appears harmless, watching IT has seriously clouded any warm feelings I have towards clowns 🙂
Cecily says
Thanks for the clarification. I haven’t see IT as I don’t watch horror movies (too much real horror in the world today). I personally think horror films cause a majority of the phobias that people have.
Jenifer says
I haven’t watched one in ages, for similar reasons and that clown.

…and towards storm drains. Let’s face it, you don’t know WHAT’S down there! That was a good scary read. 😉
Jules says
Um, doesn’t everyone dance in public, or is it just moms/dads of teenagers? I dance in my car all the time, along with my 3 year old. Seriously bothers the teens in the family, but that’s part of my job. 🙂
I’d dance at a bus stop too, a good way to pass time.

I remember dancing with my kids when they were little and it was fun they are 14 and 12 and tell me…”mom. don’t dance…its’s not cool” LOL! I still do it!
Laura says
What might be creepier than a clown (I got the storm drain reference!) is that someone would secretly tape a woman for 3 minutes. Even if they got her name and permission (I would guess they did, since she was tracked down via her Facebook, another creepy thing…) to post it, it just seems wrong. People shouldn’t photograph or video tape, or use their phones, without the subject’s knowledge. I’m glad this had a happy ending, but it just as easily could have caused tragedy. The video online without her knowledge, seeing herself, reading comments (an awful lot of Internet comments are negative), lesser things have led some to suicide.

You go Ellie, I was groovin’ right along with ya! Nice post Mavis…both of them. Have a great day.
