It has been a productive week around here. Moving into a new place, unpacking and getting settled is always a bit of a challenge. But at this point, I think we’re sort of pros at it {HA HA HA} and so the transition has been going pretty well.
We still have a bunch of boxes to go through and things to organize and things we’ll need to order {we sold our last place totally furnished, right down to the dishes and linens} but we’re getting there!
One of the first things on the agenda was to get the flag up before the fourth of July, and we did that!
Also high on the list {mine, not the HH’s} was to pull out the assortment of overgrown bushes in the front so we can replace them with my all time favorite Bloomstruck Endless Summer hydrangeas. That too was completed in a jiffy.
I found a nursery I like {more on that later} and loaded up!
We had our first visitors!! The Kiln Guy and The Chef. And they brought us a homemade cheesecake. It was fantastic. {I’ll share the recipe soon.}
I found a new table and chairs set!! I knew the second I saw it, it was THE ONE! You know how I’m always saying how much I adore those quirky British Cottages from John Bray Estates?
Well this house is sort of like that. And it has an “eat in kitchen” or diner like the British like to say and this table fits PERFECTLY in the space. The table is narrow and cozy and pine and everything about it feels warm and inviting. I love it!!
Like I said, it’s been a productive week!
I also accidentally whacked my leg on the side of the kiln! And got a pretty deep gash to prove it. I told the HH I didn’t think I needed stitches though but he made me take it easy the rest of the day anyway.
We finally got all the wool and kits unloaded, and my new wrapping station set up.
I participated in a 5k! And got a free banana. 🙂 {I walked. I’d like to blame the kiln accident but I’m a walker not a runner.}
And last but not least… I got a new bike!
I love it. It’s perfect for riding around the neighborhood, to the beach and to the post office to drop off packages. It has a giant bucket on the back that will hold up to 600 pounds {WOWZA!} so I plan on having many, many adventures with this beauty.
I’ve wanted this bike ever since the HOA house and now we’re finally in a spot where I can easily ride it to a bunch of cool places.
Including the ice cream stand!!! Yee-Haw. Summer, it’s finally here and it’s turning out to be a busy one.
Just a few more boxes to unpack… Then I’ll be in full on gardening mode.
Giddy up!

In other news, are you planning a future blog post on the ins/outs of how you sold your previous (primary) residence completely furnished? Like, did you pack away your beautiful quilt made by your friend, Zoe, and just put a plain quilt on your bed to sell? What about favorite pots/pans and the FANTASTIC coffee maker? What about family and sentimental pieces? How did you stage/store/hide your craft space/supplies? Just wondering and thank you!
Mavis Butterfield says
We packed up what we wanted to keep and then made a list of the things that were included with the purchase. It was really that easy. 🙂 Quilt and coffee maker and crafts all came with us.

Congratulations on the move! Cool bike!!!! Is it an e-bike?
