Hi Mavis,
I had two questions for you… First, what on earth do I do to prepare a hubbard squash!? And second, what are we going to wear now that Gap is discontinuing our favorite shirts?
I’m a family and consumer sciences teacher and my students were joking that kids should have to carry Hubbard squash instead of eggs or computerized babies in Child Development. They wanted to name it but I told them good farm kids know better than to name something they plan to eat!

Wait. What!? Are you kidding me? Gap is discontinuing the Favorite Tee? This.Is.Outrageous! I have no idea what I’m going to do. I tried to go snag hoard some but all the mediums are GONE.
As far as how preparing hubbard squash, just treat it like you would a pumpkin or butternut squash. Hack it in half, seed it and roast that baby!!! Or you can always puree the hubbard squash and turn it into soup or a pie. This recipe for winter squash soup with corn relish from my friend JJ is on my short list of recipes I want to make.
Good luck with your squash baby.

P.S. All the cool people cook with hubbard squash these days. 😉

Is it just me or is the one Kalya is holding look like a sleeping pigeon?
