Is anyone going to the World’s Largest Tomato Fight this year?
If you haven’t booked your tickets to Spain yet, you better hurry. The World’s Largest Tomato Fight will be held on August 29th, in Bunol Spain. There is also a week long festival, fireworks and a paella cooking contest as well.
I tried to talk The Girl Who Thinks She’s a Bird into going…But she wasn’t interested {I’m kidding}.
With all the hungry people in the world you’d think they could find a better use for the of excess tomatoes. But just in case you are going here are a few tips {courtesy of latomatinatours}.
- Wear closed shoes that you don’t mind throwing away afterwards. If you wear flip-flops, you may get hurt, or you could lose them easily during the battle
- Wear old clothes, or clothes that you aren’t planning to wear again. They will most likely end up damaged from being ripped or incredibly dirty
- You may find goggles useful. However, it is safer if you just ensure that you always have something clean to wipe your eyes with. The best thing is if you tuck your T-Shirt into your shorts to keep the bottom part of your T-shirt clean and dry
- If you are planning to take pictures, bring a waterproof camera!
- Do not miss the Palojabón – a soap-covered pole with a Spanish ham at the top: whoever can climb the pole and get the ham can keep it! {This looks promising!}
So what do YOU think? Does this look like fun to you? Are you going?

This has always been something I wanted to do – bucket list item. But I am afraid I am quickly approaching the far side of too old for such activities. 🙂

Just stay towards the outside of the crowd and you should be fine. 🙂
