The hardest part about day 25 ?
I’d love to tell you I’m going to miss my daily consumption of beans and rice. But, I’d be telling a fib. I am so ready to STOP EATING STUPID BEANS AND RICE. Choking them down every afternoon is getting harder and harder. I can feel my throat tightening up when it’s time to eat them.
But everything else? Butterflies and rainbows.

The hardest part about day 26?
Honestly, I spent most of the day outside gardening or inside doing housework so the day just whizzed by. Friday was another easy day in packaged food paradise.

Total Beverages Consumed on Day 27 – 12 bottles of water {It was 90 degrees out!!!}
The hardest part about day 27?
It was hot out! 😉 So you may be wondering why the heck I ate oatmeal three times in one day. Well, the answer is pretty simple. I wanted to use up ALL the food I had on hand BEFORE I broke into my emergency stash of pancake/waffle mix James from Valley Food Storage sent me.
I.LOVE.OATMEAL. So eating it three times in one day was no big deal. When I’m old and have no teeth, I know I’ll be able to eat mush everyday. No problem.
Day 28 {Sunday}
Breakfast Strawberry Strawberry Malt-o-Meal 220 calories
Snack – Stupid Rice and Beans 320 calories
The all the freeze dried food is GONE.
Lunch and Dinner – Honey Whole Wheat Waffles 380 calories {190 calories per serving}
Total Calories Consumed on Day 28 – 920
Total Beverages Consumed on Day 28 – 11 bottles of water
The hardest part about day 28?
I’m sorry what? I got to eat waffles two times in one day!!!! True, there was no butter or syrup to go with them, but what’s so hard about eating waffles? Umm nothing. Nothing at all. Each serving of waffles {1/2 cup mix +1/2 cup water} makes 2 waffles. Which was PLENTY. Even though the calorie count was lower than most of the other days… I felt full.
All the freezed dried food is GONE. Can you believe it? For the last 28 days I’ve been eating nothing but freeze dried food plus beans and rice. I made it through the entire kit and didn’t even budge for sweets or treats once. Do you know how good it feels to be able to say that?
Since all I have left to eat is pancake/waffle mix… that is what I will be eating for the next 2 days for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Go.Fight.Win.
2 More Days to Go Baby!!!

Wow. Such fortitude! Not sure I’d manage half as well as you have.
I can’t wait to hear what your celebratory meal(s) will be. 🙂

Are you going to post how much weight you have lost when this is over? Maybe wait a week so the binge cheesecake eating levels off…
Mavis Butterfield says
Yes. On Wednesday. 🙂

I am SO IMPRESSED! Good.For.You!!
I’d be a little careful transistioning back into “real food”. It might be a shock to your system.
Just don’t go hog wild, because you can.
I’m speaking from experience here. I had been in the hospital and on a very limited meal plan. When I was finally permitted to eat whatever I wanted, I found that I had to take it slow and ease back into my normal. I didn’t feel I went overboard. I just ate some things I had not had in a very long time.
I’m not saying you will experience this. It is however a possibility and I wanted to give you a heads up.
Hope you tell us what you choose for your first real meals.
All the best always.

Thanks for the advise Diane. 🙂 I think you’re right… I shouldn’t go crazy the first week and jump back into my normal routine.

My husband had to eat beans and rice pretty much every day for two years when he lived in Brazil. Now he avoids beans as much as he can. I’ve learned to serve the beans on the side. There are a few dishes I make with beans (chili being on) and he tolerates them, but he never requests them.

Girlfriend- I think you are crazy pants! But I am also super envious of your amazing willpower. Enjoy the waffle fest and please tell me you have an amazing BBQ planned for the 4th as your reward!

Where have you been? I haven’t seen a comment from you in a while. I don’t have dinner planned but I am going to eat a slice of cheese cake for breakfast… that’s for sure. 🙂 Hope all is well.

I’ve been following your personal 30-day challenge with much interested. As a Floridian, prepping is important. I wish I could buy a “kit” like the one you’re using, but as a gluten-intolerant diabetic, the kits always have parts I can’t use. I know you can buy items piecemeal, but the cost is crazy when compared to the kits.

I find your resolve truly inspirational, Mavis! 🙂

Wow. Just curious…Do you not have to take any daily meds? Are you taking a daily multi-vitamin? My daughters and I have several severe autoimmune conditions….

I think it is awesome that you did this! If you don’t mind me asking, have you lost any weight during the 30 days? It seems like very low calorie intake.
