For date day a few days ago we went to the Maker’s Market at Thompson Point. I’ve been to Thompson’s Point {a cool brick building/venue in downtown Portland, Maine} a couple of times for various events, but this was the HH’s first time.
And he was impressed!!! The Maker’s Market occurs numerous times a year and it’s always filled with various local artists and vendors selling their goods. Everything from handmade items {hand poured candles, clothing, leather goods etc.} to flowers and food can be found.
It’s an eclectic mix and everyone’s always in a good mood and this time of year it’s especially festive. We got there just 15 minutes after the place opened and it was already bustling.
$5 for a GIANT white chocolate macadamia nut cookie? Yes please! I love it when I can score a food item within seconds of walking into a place. See it. Get it. Eat it. That’s my motto.
Grey Goose Gourmet jams was there. Their F.R.O.G jam is our favorite! Figs, raspberries, oranges, and fresh ginger combined with a variety of sweet and hot peppers. It’s a winning combination.
Other cool things we saw for sale… Jewerly. Other cool things we saw … Jewelry.
Big quilts!
Handmade watercolor palettes.
Seriously, after only being open 15 minutes this is how busy the Maker’s Market was. Crazy!
Possibly the world’s largest bottle openers. And hand carved too!
Handmade leather slippers/loafers. Now there’s something you don’t see everyday. I’ve always wanted to make my own leather belt. I wonder if there are classes for that around here?
People take their winter activities pretty seriously around here. Maybe I need to add another hobby to my list?
Wrapping paper!
First I saw the sign…
Then I saw the sandwiches. HOLY COW MAN!!!
And they had big salads too!
It was a tough choice, but we ended up getting a turkey sandwich and apple cider to share. Pepperell Provisions… They make the BEST sandwiches on earth!!!
If you’re in southern Maine and you haven’t been to one of the Maker’s Markets at Thompson’s Point yet, be sure and check it out. They’re open every other Sunday until Christmas. We might have to go back for another big cookie and a sandwich!! 🙂
Maine. I LOVE it here. There’s always something going on.
Have a great day everyone,
~Mavis

Were the sandwiches and salad just displays and he handmade each upon order? The foccacia roast beef is crowd size! All those people and kids near food without a splash guard makes me nervous, but I like the presentation of it.

Our sandwich came from the stack {and it was delicious}.

Handmade watercolors??? Who knew! I for sure did not! I’m about to buy a nice set of watercolors. Do you have a suggestion for a good brand?
I also loved the wrapping paper. Absolutely adorable!

When are you going to have a booth there for your rug hooking supplies and rugs?
Mavis Butterfield says
That’s a good question!
