I stopped by the cabinet shop today to pick out a stain for my new bathroom vanity cabinets. I was actually just going in to the shop to confirm I wanted the espresso color similar like the ones Chino had installed in a house he was building last month.
This is vanity we will be installing. Chino had the one above custom built for his last project but we’ve decided to use the same cabinets we had installed in the kitchen {just a different color} as a way to save money on our remodel project. However the less expensive version of the espresso cabinets are a tad darker than the ones I saw in the custom home Chino built. Now I’m thinking they are just a wee bit too dark.
So now I’m thinking about going with a cherry finish {#1} or a honey maple finish {#3}.
The cabinets need to look good with the penny tile and tile flooring in the second and last photos as those will be what we are planning to use. I’m leaning towards the cherry cabinets {#1}. But what do YOU think?

Cherry.

#1 Cherry !!! I agree with with Diana. Just a bit classier. Get a color wheel to see what colors look great with the cherry. Take it with you to stores. If you don’t find that it blends in with the colors you like, maybe change to the honey maple but I still like the cherry !! 😉

Hi Mavis. If you want my honest opinion, here it is. Truth is, it doesn’t matter what color I, or anyone else prefers. The bottom line is it boils down to what YOU prefer. None of us will have to live with the choice. You will, so choose that which works for you. Hugggs, kiddo. ~ Jim 🙂

You like the dark, go with the cherry. Cherry always looks nice.

Cherry. It isn’t as dark as the Espresso (which would look FAB with the penny tiles), but the darker stain than the honey maple looks much better and a little classier than the honey maple. The only thing with the Cherry is it limits the colors you can use in the room. Bottom line, do what your gut says you like…

#1!

We have cherry in our house. It does take a little more work to find colors that “go” with it, but I like that it is a classic look. I’d go with #1.

See if they have a color called “English Ivy”… 😉

I say cherry. Neither too close to builder grade honey oak, nor super dark and trendy.

Cherry!

I like #1 and #2. I think #3 is too light with the flooring and penny tile.

We have cherry cabinets. I love them!

Cherry! The other is too boring.

My vote (not that I will be moving in!) is for #1 the Cherry finish. It has a richer look and will look great with your tile choices. Good luck!
Tracie H says
I love the cherry!

I like the darkest, but if you’ve really ruled it out, the cherry is nice. I feel #3 is a little to reminiscent of the ’90’s.
