As a way of giving back and thanking you for showing up here on this crazy little blog of mine, whether it’s everyday or every week or just when you need to pop by for a recipe, I thought it would be fun to giveaway 12 unique gifts this holiday season. Treasures that have brought me a bit of happiness over the past year. Thank you for being a part of this blog dear friends. And for keeping the conversation going. 🙂
Update: This Giveaway is now closed.
Mavis’ 12 Days of Giveaways – Day 2 – Box of Delicious Dog and Cat Treats from PolkaDog Bakery.
- 1 Tube of Cod Skin Dog & Cat Treats
- 1 Bag of Alaskan Cod Chips Dog Treats
- 1 Bag of Alaskan Salmon Dog Treats
Just look at the intensity in those eyes! We discovered this Boston based brand in a local pet boutique about 2 months ago and OH MY WORD there is no turning back now. Miss Lucy Puggle absolutely GOES WILD anytime you wave a can of Cod Skins near her or even mention the word “fish chips.”
A bit of warning though… These are the stinkiest treats {we think} on the planet earth. HOWEVER {and that’s a big however} I am certain these are the tastiest treats Lucy has ever had and she enjoys them SO MUCH… they are totally worth holding your breath for a minute while you open the container. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Cod skins. Who knew? They are light and crispy {just like a potato chip} and the salmon and cod crisps are more like a cookie but equally as good. At least according to Lucy that is. I haven’t tried them. 😉
Trust me, if you have a four {or three?} legged friend, you’ll want to win this little prize pack to put under the tree this year.
1 person will win 1 box of Lucy’s Delicious Dog and Cat Treats from PolkaDog Bakery.
All you have to do to enter this giveaway is leave a comment below and let me know what you love most about your pet {or the animal that you would love to gift this to}.
For me, it’s Lucy sense of mischievousness. Living with Lucy, is like living with a 3 year old. You just never know what’s going to happen next. She adds a bit of excitement to our lives and of course, her unconditional love and willingness to snuggle and go on an adventure at the drop of a hat just makes being her mum all the more fun.
Rules
Comment must be left on the blog to count as an entry. 1 entry per person/ip address. If you cheat, you will totally be disqualified. This giveaway is open to anyone on the planet earth.
This giveaway ends December 10th, 2019 @9 pm EST and all the winners of the Mavis’s 12 Days of Giveaways Series will be announced on December 11th, 2019. Winners will be notified via email and have 24 hours to claim their prize. If the prize is not claimed within 24 hours, the prize will be forfeited.
Good Luck! I hope you win!

Bella, my cat , so fun to watch her play. Just takes something with noise to get her imagination going. A wadded pice of packaging tape works. Also enjoy when she Decides to come sit on my lap.
Phyllis says
We have 2 dogs & 4 cats.
Sue says
What I love about my pupper is that even after 10 years, she can still surprise me with things. What she wants, who she wants to hang out with, what she does.
Sue P says
My freckled-nose, 20 pound, calico cat named Pico. She looks so intently at me while I am talking to her, kisses my nose when I am sleeping and she wants me to wake up, snuggles on the couch with me and watches old movies. She’s kind of the best!!
Dawn T says
My dog, Toby, loves giving hugs. He can always tell when I need an extra one after a rough day!
Deborah says
We’ve had Lily for about 5 years now. She was 9 months old when we got her. She’s a Terrier mix, rescue. She is so sweet. She loves us and we love her. She sleeps with us every night. She is our four legged baby girl.
Kyna says
Our cat, Rinny, is a part of our family and likes to be included in whatever we are doing. He hangs out in the kitchen when we’re cooking or making lunches in the morning. Or will curl up with you on the couch when watching TV or on our laptop. He’s the best cuddle buddy to come home to!
Jill says
Angus is a boston terrier. He cracks me up when he runs around the yard in turbo mode
Gina says
I have taken in a cat that was dumped near our little homestead ( big problem around here). She is still really scared of us but is becoming slowly trusting. I like that no matter what she has been through she is giving me a chance to help her and give her a home.
Jenn says
We have teddi our 2 year old cavapoo. We love how cuddly, cute and smart he is!
Laura says

Bourbon and Benelli, my big lab babies. It never ceases to amaze me how excited they both are to see me everyday. Every morning it is like they haven’t seen me for weeks!
Cathy E says
Well, we have several pets, so my comment is about our Border Collie mix, Buck. I love his loyalty and how he enjoys being right with me, whether lying on the couch or out working in the garden.
Julie says
We have four little dogs and now two cats…a Bichon, two mixed Bichon/Jack Russel and a Little Maltese. We have a bobbed tailed calico and a rusty orange Tabby named Morris who is new to our home. I loved them all but Sophie is the sweetest most cuddliest little Bichon on the planet. She will lay her head on your shoulder and look at you with the most adoring eyes. She takes a while to warm up to you but once she does she is the most excited to see you when you come to visit. She barks and howls and dances around like she hasn’t seen you for years.and if you hold her just right and hold your finger like a gun and go “bang!”, she’ll drop her head and close her eyes like she has been shot. She is adorable. Now for Milo……
Kelly Ennis says
Hey Mavis, what a fantastic way to give back this holiday season. We have a 6 year old dog and an 8 month old cat. We love them both beyond what words could ever describe. Molly our dog is like my shadow, she follows me everywhere and when she is ready for bed in the night she expects me to be ready too. Piccolo our cat is definitely Dads little man. My husband is a 6 foot 4 big burly man whom our animals have wrapped right around their little paws. Our cat crawls up by my husbands face and used to curl up in his beard and purr and purr, my husband has since shaved off his beard but Piccolo still does the same thing, snuggles next to my husbands face, puts is 4 paws up in the air on my husband and purrs long into the night. We just love our furry babies.
Laura says
My dog is too smart. She’s so much fun to have around.
Kirsten says
I’ve got 2 rescues: a 5 year old Red Tick Coon Hound named Paxton, and a 19 year old Lhasa mix named Po. Paxton is a cuddle bug who is fond of stealing your spot on the couch the second you move, and Po enjoys laying down wherever he is most likely to be in the way and trip anyone not paying attention. I love them both!
Maria says
I have “joint custody” (as we say) with our dog Rick. Winter and spring he lives with us and summer and fall he’s with our neighbor. He easily bounces between our house and my neighbors house protecting both places from the dangerous intruders like squirrels and birds. He was trained as a service dog but failed the test so he’s sometimes a great helper and protector but other times not so much.
Paige says
Our Boston Messi. He makes each of the six of us feel like we’re his favorite person in the world. He’s just a big heart walking on four little legs.
Peggy says
We have several pets, two dogs and three cats (one baby kitty my daughter rescued). I love that they all have their own very individual personalities, have differences, but always work it out by the end of the day. (Well, not always the grown kitties, but cats are like that). They all make me happy. I didn’t count my chickens, and I love them for the same reasons. And again, thank you.
Tracy Tidwell says
I would give this treat to our dog Dixie. Her loyalty and the fact she is always in a good mood is a blessing.
Peggy says
We have 4 Great Pyrenees and 3 little house dogs my husband refers to ask little ankle biters. LOL ( they don’t bite). I love they have their own personality and we all mesh together and make a crazy, fun family. Buster and Troop are with the goats fulltime but when I am in pen Buster expects me to love on him first. That includes him standing up and hugging me, which is hard as he is taller than me and weighs 120lbs. He wraps his front paws around for a hug and stays there until I remove myself. He pretends to be mad and growls but then licks my hand. Troop is the quiet one and waits off in corner until Buster is done them he comes over for petting, cuddles, and conversation. They walk with me while I feed and talk to the goats which think they are human. Lil Bit and Bella have run of the property and come in and out of the house at will. I love how they want to be lap dogs ( each weigh over 100lbs) when you love on them. Sammy, Trixie, and Bevo are rescue from animal shelter. They would be insulted if you called them dogs. They are like toddlers in the terrible 2 stage. When they get into trouble they are masters at sad face and sucking up. lol I even love having to fight them for space in the bed. Lord help me if I get up during the night. I am lucky if I can’t lay on the edge of bed and have a corner of a blanket. I am blessed to have this crazy crew and wouldn’t change them for the world.
Paula says
We have 3 dogs and 3 cats. Each one has their own special personality that makes us love them!
Shari Harniss says
Our boxer, Bailey, is so full of love and goodness she makes me smile all the time. She’s so sweet she’ll make your teeth hurt! I love her to pieces!
Marcia says
This is so sweet! We just adopted our first pet (besides the fish) yesterday from the humane society. A 7 year old dog named Kit. She’s super chill and snuggly. Loves my lap.
Jayme Logan says
At 13yrs old our little buster can still pull out the cutest puppy face when simeone has something yummy for him. He also gets so excited it sounds like he’s dancing.
Debi says
We rescued our thirteen year old dog , Boozer, eight years ago. I love how he still has some puppy in him, how excited he gets when we take his leash off the hook for a walk and how chill he is when hanging out with us old folks.
Denise W. says
I have three Dachshunds…….Tucker, Daisy and Susanna. I could list all their attributes but Daisy is my shining star of the group. She lost her vision to SARDS but you would never know it by the way she acts. Her sense of smell is now to such a level that she can find me wherever I am in the house just by smelling for me. I’ve always told my husband that should I go missing he needs to get Daisy on the case 🙂 I love your blog and check in frequently. Keep doing you.
Joanne says
Pets are the best! Unconditional love! I’d forgotten about fish treats until I saw this -my granddog would love this!
MEM says
I have three rescue dogs – all are chiweenies mixed with something else. They provide unconditional love, humor, and comfort to me, among other things. They make a house a home, even though I also have two human children!
Jill A says
Good Morning Mavis. My favorite thing about our dog Charlotte is her joy and happiness. She just loves life. She makes us so happy just being around her. She loves everyone but especially my daughters and I. She loves a good hug which we are always happy to oblige.
Cecile says
We don’t have pets ourselves but we have grand-pets. Our daughter who is currently serving overseas has a dog who is the silliest thing I have ever met! He loves to play and while currently living with his other ‘grandparents’ while his parents are serving, he likes to try to make friends with the deer in their back yard! He seems to like everything bigger than himself. While visiting last spring we went on a sled ride through a sugar bush friends of theirs own, he thought the team of horses should be playing with him by chasing him. The old girls just looked at him like he was a silly fool while he ran up to their hind legs nudging them to entice a chase. The girls stayed calm and he finally gave up and ran with the other dogs while following us on the drawn sled.
Georgie says
We have 3 rescue dogs, each with their own quirky personalities, but what I love most are the excited, wiggle-butt dances that greet me every time I open the front door.
Mary Ann Davis says
Well we have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a bird but today I am going to talk about our Golden Retriever “Chandler”. Yes, he was named after “Chandler Bing” of Friends. My daughter wanted a Golden for years and I finally found one that I could afford. So we picked him up and it has been an experience ever since. Chandler needs all the attention and when I say that I mean it. If I show any affection towards another pet he gets between us. This includes my one year old grandson Barry. Chandler steals his toys, his binkies, his bottles, diapers, everything, and yet Chandler will sit with Barry on his dog bed or on the sofa while Barry tries to talk to him. The thing that makes me giggle about Chandler though is the licking…..he licks you constantly…..especially me. I use to tell people he licked me a hundred times a day, but I then counted. He literally licks me more than 600 times on some days. Even when I am sitting on the toilet I am yelling, “NO LICKING, NO LICKING!” Sometimes it’s aggravating, but he loves us and how can you not love that!
Jen G. says
Daryl is a dirty little hound dog but my favorite thing is snuggle time. He creeps up the couch until he has his head on my shoulder. Then the snoring begins!
Kathy says
My Goldie girl is so loyal and dedicated to me. She always wants to be near me. We’ve had her for almost 13 years and she has enriched our life so much!
Rachel Drennan says
hello Mavis! I love that our rescue dog Katie is a massive snuggler, with us and the cat! She has such a loving personality and wants to greet everyone with snuggles and kisses!
Tracy says
Ali love all animals, but am allergic to cats. But dogs….I don’t even know where to begin. Dogs are a gift from heaven. We don’t deserve dogs. Unconditional love, forgiveness, loyalty, kindness, affection on tap, what don’t dogs give us? Any of the magnificent dogs in my life would love the cod snacks. I’ve never heard of them and would love to try them! Thanks for the giveaways, Mavis.
Jessica says
We have a lovely retriever mix named Bella. One of my favorite things about her is her ears!! They are big and stick straight up, which give her such a cute, unique look. I also love how gentle and loving she is with our kids. She truly is sad and misses them while they are at school. 🙂 Thanks so much for this giveaway. <3
Claudia says
My boxer, Theon, was dumped and was very emaciated when I got him. It took a little bit to get him comfortable around me. But now he is the love of my life! We walk 2-4 miles a day and I’m am now the healthiest I’ve ever been. He’s gained 36 pounds and he too is really healthy. I look for products that are good for him and will keep him in top condition.
Ca says
I would give these to my friends 2 cute crazy coon hounds”
Heather says
These treats would be going to my two cats. One of the things I love most about them is their intuitiveness. They always seem to know when I need their quiet affection, and life doesn’t get better than Sunday afternoon naps curled up with those two kitties!
Dianna says
I love Molly and Willow because they make me so happy.
Jennifer says
My Stormy was my best friend after a long move to a big city from a small town… now that we are settled she still keeps me moving on our daily walks

Our dog, Buddy, is the most loving dog. He’s fantastic with the kids, always patient and tolerant. Through my cancer battles, he has become my shadow.
Sandra Smith says
My daughters French Bulldog dog Lilly has been living with us for a year now because of severe allergies. She fit into our pack with our two dachshunds perfectly. Unfortunately we lost both dachshunds last week, one due to old age ( she was 14 and had health issues, and one was 9 and had a spinal accident and had to be euthanized). I thank God every day for the comfort that Lilly has provided me because my grief has been so overwhelming. I put all my time into her to ease my grief, and she loves me right back
Sharon says
What a terrible week you had! I’m so glad you have your daughter’s Lily with you for comfort. Sending my sincerest condolences on your losses.

Hi Mavis!
I love my dog’s sense of joy. He is so happy to be doing anything, all the time. It is a constant reminder to me to practice finding that same joy in my life.
Thank you!
Tami

I love what everyone is writing on about their posts.
I’ve got two dogs, Mickey and Bailey. Mickey is the life of the party and has the biggest grin. Bailey is as smart as can be and has decided his job offs to look after me. Love then both to bits!
They make me laugh every day with their antics. I feel so blessed to have then as part of the family.
Marissa says
My cats: Pumpkin, Spice, and Muffin. They love their treats!!! They are so sweet, unique, and snuggly
Pam says
I have just had a really fun few days..one son lives near us, has a three year old sweet long haired Jack Russell, then three weeks ago got his daughters a solid black kitten from a rescue…it has been really fun to watch the interaction, and getting to know period with these two…THEN for the holiday my other son and family came for the holiday with their 11mos old Jack Russell. When we last saw him a few months ago, he was very jumpy, snappy, barky…..we couldnt wait to see all the action when they arrived, and we were not disappointed, it was hysterical…they were all running, chasing, jumping, hiding, wrestling, mostly in fun! There were a few dramatic moments but I realized on the way home after the holiday was over that my face was actually sore from soooooo much laughing! Gotta love animals for that!
Carol says
Fish chips and stinky breath! I’m in!
Julie K says
My favorite thing about my Marlee Jean is how she is always by my side. We adopted her a little over a year ago. She’s the best dog and really makes our family complete.
Kathryn Babcock says
Good morning, In my house we have 3 rescue dogs and 2 rescue cats. I absolutely love the chaos in the morning when playtime is at its best. Fortunately rescues tend to know when life is finally safe and love is abundant, they all get along and lavish me with kisses and love. Thank you for your blog and information have a great day!
Lisa VanDoorne says
We rescued our dog Jonah about 13 years ago in Alaska. I bet he would love these Alaska treats!
Laura says
Love Charlie’s love of getting affection from literally anyone. She will put her paw on the leash to stop us from walking while she waits for some one to come along and pet her. Dork!
Sharon says
I have 3 dogs, and what I love about them is their individual personalities. Grace is a little shy with new people — unless they are wearing a bait bag or look like they have treats in their pockets. Then she is their best friend. Jackson is the perfect gentleman with everybody, people and dogs alike (and cats if they are met in their own home and not on the street — then he’ll try to chase them). Abbey, who I never intended to keep, just foster until I found her the perfect home, it turns out that she’s brilliant when it comes t nose work (a dog sport competition). I’ve just started training her, and I love how quickly she’s caught on to the game. She is my, let’s say, least smart dog, so to find something that she loves and excels at is so much fun. I love each of them for their own personalities, and it is so nice to come home to happiness and excitement even when I’ve had a bad day at work.
Sarah S says
We have a dog and cat that act like siblings but also know exactly how to get what they want. They know when it is treat time and will sit begging at our feet until they get what they want.
Laura Arnett says
My family inherited Oscar, a 12 year old dachshund and bound dog mix, right before his owner (my Uncle Joe) passed away. He has been with us for 2 months and it’s like having my Uncle Joe with us still. The dog seems to have the same mannerism and attitude my Uncle had. My five sons of course have him spoiled rotten because anytime you go outside or come home he gets all excited like a puppy waiting on a treat and for you to throw his squeaky ball and play fetch for at least 20 minutes each interval. I feel like he’s been with us out whole life- funny how that happens. I wish everyone could see how beautiful and smart this little rascal is and I’m grateful and blessed he has come to be part of my family. If j had to pick one thing about him that makes me love him the most it would be his unconditional love that he gives freely just like my Uncle Joe did.
Lucy, if your wife ever in Alabama come look Oscar up. He’s a character!
suzanne says
Love our two puppers and two old cats. We have 9 acres but we still go out and walk with them everyday on our trails. They all help with the gardening, dirtying of windows and generously leave hair on every thing.
Diane says
We have 2 dogs, a 9-year old black lab mix and a patterned white border collie puppy, both from the Humane Society. They are wonderful dogs and our house has become considerably noisier as they love to play fight. The puppy is either going to keep the older dog young at heart, or possibly wear her out at an eary age!
Jenny Young says
My sweet Morkie, Maggie is so much fun & has the best manners…most of the time. She makes me laugh, loves to play & loves to sleep. She will run faster than lightning for bacon.
Lissa says
Our mini Golden Doodle is the son we didn’t have :). He is the most loving doggie we’ve had and I know he’d love some tasty smelly treats. HIs name is Winston
Amy leigh says
I love my cat like he is part of the family of course. We have had ollie from a kitten when I found him wandering on a busy road. It still amazes me that he was not hit by a car. He is honestly quite spoiled and decides his food is no good after the bag is half eaten. Quite a finicky chap. He was always mean to our other cats, who have passed on. He is some sort of Maine coon, and is of course big and gorgeous. He hates it when I take his photo and will turn away. I just love him to death.
Lynn says
Our Beau and Bella have been a part of our life for 14+ years. Sadly we had to put Beau Beau down the day before thanksgiving…many tears have fallen the past few days. Bella loves treats and she would love to sample some cod chips. Thank you.
Vanessa C says
I love my pets identity crisis. Our Olde English Bulldogge, Luna, is part human. She’s grumpy in the morning, watches TV (cartoons are her favorite) and cocks her head at everything, as if to ask “What’s that? What are you doing? Can I give it a try?” Our cat, Dulce, is part dog. She knows commands, “barks” at birds, and rolls over on her back to have her tummy scratched. Love these two!
Glenda Sessions says
Our Priney is a faithful company who never leaves our side……she loves her “cookie” treats so I am sure she would be excited to try these!!! I love that they area all natural! Thank you!!!!!
Shelle Lenssen says
Our two dogs, Rambo and Rogue, are currently out hunting pheasants with my husband. They are talented and skilled bird dogs and my husband works hard with them. Our faithful barn cat, Arnold, is the wiliest mouser we’ve ever seen. I think he takes great pride in keeping our barn as vermin-free as possible. They’d all love these fancy treats!
Kristi says
My dog Peanut is the best! A small 10 year old Chihuahua full of kisses and love!
Paula L. says
I would give these yummy treats to my dad’s dog, Gus. He has been a sweet and loyal companion through many years.

My youngest Aussie (I have 3) is my shadow, cuddle buddy, and best friend. He adores me as much as I adore him. He is the only one that tries to say “I love you” and since he is so adorable his efforts are usually rewarded 😉
Martha H says
My granddog would l-o-o-o-ve the cod treats and my next door cats who visit all the time would go crazy for the cat yummies.
Dana says
I actually don’t have any pets at the moment but I have several clients who bring theirs to meetings with me regularly and I get to enjoy them! I’d love to have a special treat waiting for them, even if it might make my office stinky for a bit!
Elise in the SF Bay Area says
We adopted a little (11 lb) black and white dog just over a year ago, and she is the BEST!! She looks like a papillon, but she herds us to the door EVERY TIME we head in that general direction, so she must have some cattle dog or Australian shepherd in her too! She is also a complete snuggle bug.
HollyG says
Mr. and Mrs. Wigglesbee (Kenton and Maizey) – What’s not to love when almost 200 pounds of fluffy, white, furry fun come barreling at you every morning to greet you? No one else has ever been so happy to see me.
Casey Risley says
2 cats and 1 dog. All possess a completely ridiculous sense of superiority, believing that they totally and completely rule this home and this family. I don’t have the energy to argue with them…
Michelle says
Bruno is excited for every day, every walk , every ball thrown, over and over and over, he never looses his enthusiasm for life.
Sheri Temple says
We have a mini Aussie with interesting eyes that look crazy. When most people meet her, they fear her eyes so she picks up on the fear and doesn’t trust them. Otherwise, she loves people. I love that she likes to be by my side. She loves going outside to chase deer or other critters away. I would love the treats to help introduce visitors to her.
mandy says
Two cats and a dog. The oldest cat is very picky about who to snuggle with as he needs it just so. The younger cat is a spazz and you never know what he is thinking. The dog is loyal to a fault. Follows me everywhere even if it’s just two steps to the next room.
Mary Ann says
My son’s dogs are fast learners and great hunters!
sharon says
snuggle time. 🙂
Jennifer Bouknight says
Our lab, Belle is diabetic and blind so she would be thrilled with something she could eat and smell since she can’t see it.
Angela O’Dell says
Pearl, our 3 year old French Bulldog is like having a 2 year old in the throes of the terrible two’s. She is stubborn and independent and definitely has her own opinions. I have never had a dog that is so human like. She’s a picky beast, only eating home cooked food, turns her nose up at kibble, but likes dog treats. All that being said, we love her like no other pet we’ve had before because she has so much personality, weird as it may be. We won’t ever have another breed of dog.
Tina A. says
Our cat Millie is seven months old and still demands lots of playtime! She would love these!
Pam says
We have 3 furry kids, one German Shepherd and two beautiful cats! They would love some fancy treats. We would love to win! Thanks for the chance!
sindy says
I love the most about our dog is that they protect me when I am out on a hike deep in the woods. I know he would take on any bear or cougar for me. haha
Joyce T says
What I love most about our two rescue cats is how they “talk” to us when they want something, or “answer” back when asked a question…. (It’s similar to the chatter they make when watching birds outside on the patio). I like to think they’re answering me…
kathryn Maxson says
We have a rescue Rat-chi named Pedro. He is a snuggle bug especially when colder weather hits. We happened to get him a few weeks before my brother passed away and the puppy snuggles really helped all of us to cope.
Kayla says
I love that my dog has taught my daughter not be afraid of animals and people. My daughter is autistic and her service dog has made our lives completely different.
Alex Ventura says
Being an empty nester – the daily companionship I get from my 2 pups – Roxy & Jax are the best.
Aimee says
I know a dog named Captain that would love a fish treat!
Sandra Cirello says
Our Cat TIGGER is an Orange Beauty. He loves to Play, Eat and Sleep. We Love Him Dearly♡♡♡
Diana says
What I love most about my 4 dogs is their individual personalities.
Ilsa is aloof, yet she is the best snuggler – no squirming around, lol.
Gaelen, being the only boy in the house, I’m sure feels hen pecked and his talkativeness (aka grumbling noises) let us know what’s what.
Maggie Mae thinks she’s the boss and makes everyone stay in line. She like to snuggle up in bed with her back against my back, trying to push me off, lol (did I mention they’re all around 50-60 lbs?).
Last, but not least, is Gidget. She has more energy than a 4 year old toddler and LOVES to play with her toys. I love watching her toss them around and catch them, just to toss them some more.
Thank you for this particular giveaway. It was nice to verbalize what I love about each one and let you know it too.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Jerry says
Both of my girls are such loving dogs. They seem to know exactly when we need love, and when we need to go play!
Paula Dearr says
Skye my Border Collie is so energetic, she always wants a toy or ball thrown,
She herds my husband when he gets up to go to bed at night, maybe its his white socks lol!!!
She is my best friend, loves to go for a ride and can run for days!
Melinda W says
My dog Talon is now 10 but has been with me since he was 4 weeks old. I ran a dog rescue at the time, and he was found by someone curled up with his mom’s dead body, as she’d been hit by a car. So I became his mom, and this dog loves me with a Norman Bates intensity. He’s my body pillow at night, foot warmer while watching tv, and is such a good boy all the time. He lost an eye to an unknown injury a few years ago, so he works double time to keep his one eye on me all the time.
Carol O'Connell says
My dog Oreo is a rescue dog and we got her when she was 5 years old. I love that she will listen to all my problems and give me cuddles and snuggles when I most need it!
Kim S. says
Dog treats would go to Whisky my sister’s ancient black lab who comforts her as she fights brain cancer. The cat treats would go to my mom’s Snoopy who keeps her irritated but young!
Margery Erckert says
Well they would need to share them Olaf the cat is independent but loves you on his terms and snickerdoodle , Snickers for short our cocker spaniel the never ending love he gives and his need to always be close to his boy who as a teen boy needs that unconditional love.
Katrina says
We have a 90 pound Gold Retriever named Buddy. He loves to wrestle with my husband, go on long walks, swim in the pool (in summer) with all the kids, and loves to be brushed. He thinks he is a human!
Molly says
We have a 13 yr old Westie and 3 yr old Doxie, both Rescues. They both sleep with us every night. They are the sweetest most loveable fur babies

Absolutely love it when the kitties come to cuddle with me on the sofa. Two female kitties like to be near me, but our male kitty wants to be on top of me….which is fine by me!
Mary Snow says
Lucy 3yr Rottie, she’s a big baby. She would love these. My daughter took her to a dog wash place to give her a bath and as she was paying (after bath) there was dehydrated sardines on the counter. They were really smelly. I tossed one to her, she caught it, then dropped it and rolled on it! She ate it but oh many daughter was ticked at me!

Bela is a mix (not sure of breeds exactly) who was rescued 11 years ago. She had been abused, dropped off out in the country and then hit by a car & left on the side of the road. She had damage to her cervical spine & even with lots of therapy & love, still has a head tilt. She had never had a treat or a bone to chew on & didn’t know what to do with them when we gave them to her. With lots and lots of love and patience, she quickly became an important part of our family. Bella came along shortly after we lost our rat terrier mix who we had adopted after been rescued from a dog mill. She was a beloved part of our family for 17 years. We never imagined wanting to have another dog after her but Bella stole our hearts. We later adopted a siberian husky & after that a german shepherd whose families could no longer care for them. Our children are grown but our grandchildren love our wonderful animals just as much as we do.
mary says
I know I already wrote too much but wanted to add, our rat terrier mix, Kimba passed away just a year after my husband was in a serious, disabling accident. Kimba had been such a comfort to my husband and when she passed, it made life so much more difficult for him and his rehabiilitation. It was devastating. When Bella came along, he had a new companion. One who didn’t care about his physical limitations and everything that goes along with that. She comforted him when he was in pain and frustrated. She was and still is a blessing to our family. Coda and Maizey Blue who joined us afterwards, along with Bella, continue to motivate my husband to live his life no matter the disabilities & pain he lives with on a daily basis.
Jessica says
Lucy, our lab. She is my 8 year old son’s best friend. He takes her everywhere around the house & yard with him. 🙂
NCJill Hamilton says
OUr two dogs, Skylar and Piper would dig these treats. One time last year when we were not at home, we got a “special delivery” from BarkBox and the neighborhood PIG ate all the goodies out of the box! Dogs and their mama were NOT happy! 🙂
Chris M says
My grand-dogs! They go home …
Abigail says
I have a cat and a dog :)…what I love most about my cat Samson (besides his 25lb size) is that he has this blanket he drags around the house while meowing when he thinks he’s been left home alone…and what I love most about my dog Oliver is how happy he is to be with us – anytime, anywhere.

My rescue, Sonny, is such a character!! He makes me laugh. I have had senior rescues in the past who had health issues. Sonny is 2 1/2 and is full of life and character!! Win-win in this fur-ever home!!

Our 3-year-old Coltriever (half Golden Retriever, half Border Collie) Sailor, will stare down the busiest squirrel. She hasn’t caught one. Yet. I do appreciate that she chases them off when they are digging up my tulip bulbs!

Jack is our 8 year old boxer, who still thinks he is 1 year old. Endless energy. Goes everywhere with us and has his own camping chair.
Sarah B says
I love the snuggles on my lap.
Cindy Rollins says
My pair of rescues, Romulus and Remus, are the best dogs ever. What I love about them is that they are very protective of each other and of our family. Romulus is the fighter, and Remus is the lover. It’s strange. We gave them their names when they were tiny puppies, and how could we know what their personalities would be like? But, somehow, they fit. We love them so much and they give it back in abundance!
By the way, what one gets, the other gets, so they will be glad to share the treats!
Gigi says
I have a cool looking dog. He looks like a fox with white boots. From a shelter and we did a DNA cheek swab. He’s 1/4 Pomeranian, 1/4 Rat terrier, and 1/2 Too-mixed-to-tell
Amy Cooper says
I love my 12-year-old setter mix, Stuart. Age has hit him hard this year, but he is still my protector.
Angela D. says
We searched for our Eddie solely from our love of reading about your Lucy! Eddie is a two-year-old Frug (French Bulldog/Pug mix.) He looks almost EXACTLY like Lucy, except his tail is just a short stub. If you saw a photo, you might take a double look! He seems to have so many similar personality traits to Lucy, too— how funny, right? Gladys Kravitz and all…..

They never fight and when they are resting they are always back to back. The love they give each other and us is unconditional.

What I love most about my beautiful Calico cat Matilda is her purrrrrrr. She’s happy just being near us and you can hear her purr from across the room!
Cindy Brick says
Our (very large) dogs Charley and Ruby are more than willing to lie on a cold floor, just to be next to me while I’m working. I talk to them and lean down to pet them, which they enjoy — but they’d be there, anyways.
And they LOVE stinky fish. Stinky anything
charwelsh says

Patti M. says
My dog’s name is Lucy too. She is absolutely the best dog. Her happiness is my favorite and it is very contagious.
Tracy L. says
Sophie-the dog that we never knew we needed. But we got our precious pup shortly after you got Lucy. We can’t imagine our lives without her now. When my disabled daughter has surgery or is not feeling well, she knows and stays with her. When I had heart problems, she would stay with me. We found the cod skins at Mud Bay, and now I buy them in bulk from Amazon. They are her 3:00 “Scooby Snack”. And, let me tell you, no matter what she’s doing, she will come find me at EXACTLY 3:00 and ask for her “Scooby Snack”. Who knew dogs could tell time??!?!? I’d love to have her try the other ones offered. Maybe she will find a new favorite.
Rose says
My dog Holly ( a Miniature Poodle) will be nine years old on December 10. We got her when our youngest was 13. Our daughter is a Type 1 diabetic and all through her teen years Holly would sleep with her and wake her when she started to go low at night. Holly is our little hero.
Now my daughter is at University and a continuous glucose monitor alerts her when she is going too low, but she misses her furry little friend, who did the job is such a loving way.

With dogs in the house you never know what disaster will happen next. Our hound mix Gemma was tossing a squeaky toy in the air. It went up and never came down. Landed in a basin of water in the kitchen sink. Dumped the water never but saw the soaked toy. Heard it the minute I turned on the garbage disposal. I wish I could have seen her face when her toy never came DOWN!
Lots of joy with a disaster now and then that needs tools
Shari says
What I love most about our cat is watching her chatter at the birds. Cracks me up every time. Our dog is 16 and was a fearful rescue. She’s been with us 13 years, and I love watching her sleep stretched out and relaxed instead of the tight ball she curled into the first year or so.
Jeni says
When I first saw the picture of the giveaway I thought, “Um, ewwww, no thanks!” Then I saw they were dog treats-LOL
My Maisy is an American Bulldog, eight years old, and a big lug! She’s about 55lbs of stockiness and boy does she love food. There is very little she won’t eat, or rather swallow whole. I usually break up treats into little bites and then go around and “hide” them here and there. After she’s found the first one, I tell her “keep looking” and she’ll race around sniffing and snuffing till she usually finds them all. It wouldn’t take her long to find these 🙂 I might have to hide them outside if they smell as strong as you say they do(I live in SC but hail from MN, land of bitter winters)
Emiko K says

Our dog Gunner whom is 16 year young, is the best because he allows our youngest “human” whom is 5 year old to dress him up and walk him on a leash all around the house all day long and yet he’s so protective of our kid… since he’s so old we always look for treats that are not super hard and these sound perfect for him even if we don’t win. 🙂
Paula says

My two 2 year old brothers are the sweetest, tho totally different, Yorkies ever. I love that they are so different. I love that they learned early on to live my night owl routine. I just simply LOVE THEM TO PIECES.

I’m trying to make these last days/weeks/months/hopefully years special with my 14 yo corgi Luigi. He has been with me through happy and sad times. When no one has been around he has absorbed my tears with gentle licks and a fluffy coat. He picks up on my moods and does his best to pick them up. He doesn’t have many teeth left so these treats sound like something he could handle and if not he can share them with his younger sibling. Thank you
