    I think my favorite is getting together with our family. There’s not too many of us anymore, just 3 sisters and our 4 kids, 1 grandchild. We were thinking the other day that when we’re gone, there probably won’t be any more family Christmases since we’re the ones holding it together. So, yes, I would definitely say our family getting together.

    My favorite thing is getting together with my entire family at my grandma’s house. This year will be bittersweet due to my brother’s death but sweetness due to the birth of his granddaughter six weeks before his death.

    Christmas will be different this year, but joy will come from being with the family.

      The best thing I love about Christmas is being able to speak with my mother. After being diagnosed with advanced Alzheimer’s Disease @ 63, she has very limited verbal communication. Just being able to hear my name is good enough.

    This year my favorite thing is watching my daughters eyes light up when the Christmas lights come on and constantly pulling her out from under the tree to prevent her from prematurely opening gifts. She’s 9 months old.

    My favorite thing about the holidays is that this time of year RENEWS my spirit for reducing our waste, reusing everything we can and recycling what we can reuse. I see all the waste and it reminds me that Im doing something right and that I can keep doing it. I love that my family and I come up with gifts for each other that we need and that we can make things for each other instead of buying things that we will never use or that will get used and pitched.

    My favorite thing would have to be the Christmas music. We start listening to Handel’s Messiah the week before Thanksgiving and just expand from there. Can’t get enough!

    The giftgiving – I just hate the shopping. Was going to finish up today, but I’m in Ontario, Canada and we had the big ice storm and lost power and are advised not go to out anywhere since it’s too icy.
    At least we have power at our place again though. I’ll have to finish up shopping and baking tomorrow night.

    I would say the gatherings but every since my grandma died 12 1/2 years ago the family doesn’t get together anymore on my mom’s side. This year will be the first with just my dad, son, my son’s girlfriend, our 4 cats, my dad’s dog and our chickens. It looks like this is the way it will be from now on.

    Giving others less fortunate than us the gift of Christmas and watching little one’s faces light up just when all hope was lost. Seeing a mother who has lost hope gain a little dignity with knowing she can provide for her family through the holiday season when you drop off food, presents, whatever they might need that you, with a little resourcefulness can provide. I don’t need to win this contest, I only wanted to comment on what my favorite part of Christmas is and to wish you the Happiest Christmas yet!

    The best thing is wrapping the gifts…. It’s fun! My relatives find that weird for some reason but they do take full advantage of my quirk. I always know what everyone’s getting for christmas morning. I usually get questions from one relative or another asking if someone bought a specific gift for someone else so they don’t accidently double up on gift buying. For the really lazy ones I even have to wrap my own gifts from them. My brother is infamous for this… it’s become a running gag in the family.

    My favorite thing is that “Christmas feeling” that almost everyone seems to automatically get. I love the memories of Christmas past ~ gatherings with family members who have passed on ~ I can still hear my uncle laughing over finding his socks in the Christmas tree.
