While Lucy and I were working in the garden yesterday I went ahead and snapped a few photos of the fruits and vegetables currently growing in our backyard. I don’t know about you but I just LOVE seeing what other people have growing in their yards the same time I do.
Peas! We should be picking our first round of Sugar Snap Peas in about 2 weeks! 
I spy with my little eye… a baby Brussels sprout beginning to form. 
Kale. Whoop T Do. 
Red onions. I’m growing these so I can make a big ole’ batch of homemade salsa this summer.
Tomato blossoms. A sign of good things to come.
French breakfast radishes. Perfect for snacking! 
Beets. This year we are growing a couple of different varieties. I think these are the Chiggoa variety if I’m remembering correctly. Hopefully I can get the beets thinned out this weekend.
Are you growing spuds this year? We have them planted in two spots. The garden boxes and also in the lasagna garden. {The ones in the lasagna garden are volunteers from last year}.

I love seeing what you have growing in your garden 🙂 Here in My North Idaho garden we are harvesting lettuce, Spinach, chives, and Rhubarb. Our Peas are up, but will not be ready for some time!

My shelling peas are just starting to flower. Nothing on the snap peas yet! Which of your tomatoes are starting to flower? I’m anxiously watching mine for the first flower, LOL! And thanks for reminding me to plant some more radishes! 🙂

I am so looking forward to my snap peas being ready to pick! I think another week on mine since they already have small pea pods developing. All my tomatoes are loaded with blossoms and I noticed little green tomatoes on the Sungold yesterday! Wahoo, tomato season is right around the corner! Pick your kale when the leaves are about 5 inches long and they taste much better than when they are larger. I think this will be the best raspberry season in 5 years. My plants are loaded. Love this time of year!

Our tomatoes are still small but blooming. Dear Husband picked a hot pepper already. Leaf lettuce is beautiful. Grape vines look the best they have ever looked. Herb garden in a pot is going strong. Onions are up and starting to grow. Flowers are blooming and annual flowers are filling in the pots. Happy Gardening!

Picked the first of the snow peas a couple of nights ago for a stir fry. I soaked the seeds, then planted in buckets in the greenhouse. When I needed more room in there for the tomato transplants in April, I moved them outside. Rhubarb, lots of salad and basil, french sorrel, a few radishes. Have to start over on the carrots and beets. I think the slugs had a feast. That’ll teach me to be lazy and not put out Sluggo the moment I plant things. Tomatoes almost the size of golf balls on a couple of plants.

No peas yet, mine are just starting to climb the strings I put up for them. I love seeing your garden progress. Since you are 3-4 weeks ahead of me I get to look into my future and hopefully see what my garden will be doing soon.

Hi…you have a beautiful garden….wondering if you or anyone has encountered a groundhog!? We’ve had one for the last three years and she has become my arch nemesis ….every time I get something planted a going well, she eats it down to nothing….lost all my lettuce yesterday!! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Mavis- I have some surprise potatoes growing in my raised beds… do I need to cover them like you do in the potato towers? I have no idea how to grow them but I might as well since they seem to be doing REALLY well. Yay spuds!

Yay spuds is right. We have some volunteer potatoes as well and I just hill them up a bit {maybe 1 foot or so above the soil}.

This week I’ve been harvesting sugar snap peas, strawberries, kale, and assorted Asian greens that have been yummy when stir-fried (Kentucky, zone 6). Tomorrow I’ll be clipping a bunch of Swiss chard for a quiche. After the long & rough winter that we had, picking fresh veggies makes me positively gleeful. 🙂

I’m so jealous, here in Canada we’re a little behind. We had a very late spring, but now that its warmed up everything seems to be growing like mad. I’m just happy to see all the little seedlings popping up. 🙂
