Have you heard about the buy $100 of partcipating gift cards and get a $20 Albertsons store coupon deal?
I purchased $100 in iTune gift cards {which I would have bought over the next few months anyway} and then used the $20 Albertsons Store coupon to stock up on a few groceries.
I had 2 transactions.
I purchased the gift cards first, and when I spent $100 on the gift cards I received 2,000 Albertsons Preferred Savings Points. Which in turn bumped my Preferred points to over 5,000 points which triggered a $5 Albertsons store coupon at the bottom of my receipt. Yee-Haw!
So, in a nut shell, if you have the extra funds available, now would be a great time to snag a few gift cards and get a bag of groceries for next to nothing. Just remember to buy the gift cards before you buy the groceries.
Here is how I used the $20 coupon to my advantage.
3 gallons Albertsons 2% Milk $2.59 each
1 Everyday Essentials Bacon $3.50
2 Trop50 Orange Juice $2.00 each
11lbs {aprox.} Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts $23.62
Used $1/1 Everyday Essentials coupon {Albertsons Coupon booklet}
Used $20/1 Albertsons Store coupon {from gift card deal}
Used {2} $5 off your next shopping trip Abertsons Preferred Rewards Savings coupons
Final Price: $7.89 oop
*Remember, most stores will not let you use the store coupon on liquid dairy products
iTunes, Sears, Lowe’s, Cabela’s, Applebees, Kohl’s, Bass Pro Shops, JCPenney gift cards are included in this promo.
Will YOU be buying any gift cards this time around to get the $20 coupon?

Sweet! I’m totally doing this. We are in the process of building a chicken coop, so I’m going to buy gift cards for Lowes. It’s money would have spent anyway and I figure I’ll get $100 in FREE groceries! I’m excited!

Where’s the LIKE button for this?
Mavis says
HI Julie, the like button is right above the Subscribe for free email updates button. Do you see it?
Mavis says
You kiddos are going to love having chickens!
Julie2 says
Haha! I’m just now joining you on Facebook. Too bad you are not doing a giveaway right now. Can’t wait for one, I’m too hooked.
LaToya says
Yep – doin’ the same thing. My husband has cash for the garden/yard stuff so I’m having him convert that all to Lowe’s gift cards where he would have spent the money anyway, and making me a few $20s. I’m so excited. I think they do this every year and I’m not sure why I haven’t done this before; but I’m stoked!
Mavis says
It seems like these gift card promos come around in June, the fall and again around Christmas time. I’m not a Lowe’s shopper… But if they had Home Depot cards you could bet I’d be stocking up big time. 🙂
LaToya says
Oh and I just noticed you have the little Facebook comment thingy there. Please don’t go strictly to that. Krazy Coupon Lady did that so I bailed. My Facebook account is for printing coupons only…not for being chatterly 😉
Mavis says
What are you talking about LaToya. I’d never do that. I just thought it might be easier for people to leave comments that way. I like my comment box to much to get rid of it. 🙂

I did this deal with the Cabela’s gift cards. My hubby LOVES that store and always “needs” something from there. I am going back today to spend by $20, my plan is:
* cantaloupe
* 8 yoplait yogurt
* 2 multipacks gatorade
* 4 propel
* 2 rold gold pretzels
* 2 triscuits
According to my calculations this should come to about $2 OOP
LaToya says
I was just going over the ad too – the Propels you get a bonus ticket on. These are something I don’t ever get coupons for, so I’mma buy 40, pay the 50-cents each, get $20 worth…and bonus tickets for each one. Then I’m going to win the million dollars and you all will never see my couponing-butt ever again – mua ha ha ha ha!
Tina says
My daughter is convinced we are going to win the million since we are only 1
ticket away :}
I sure would be happy if she is right!
Mavis says
My son wants to win the Kindle fire. 😉

I’m hoping for the $5200 Groceries for a Year!
Mavis says
Saweeet! 🙂

Is Amazon not included????
Mavis says
Nope. If Amazon was included you could bet I’d be buying them. I love amazon.com!

Dang! I just spent bu-coo bucks at Lowe’s for hubby’s b-day gift. If only there was an Albies in Alaska, I could have had free groceries! Oh well, I guess I will console myself by going salmon fishing.
