Oroweat Bakery Outlet $10
A great way to save on bread {other than baking your own} is to stop by your local bakery outlet every once in a while and stock up on bread that has been pulled from the grocery store shelves.
This time I picked up 6 loaves of whole wheat bread, 3 bags of whole wheat bagels and 1 box of chocolate doughnuts {for Monkey Boy}. Everything was $1.00 each and you know what? I think that’s a heck of a deal.
Bartering with the Hillbillies $0
Mrs. HB brought her kiddos over last week to do some bartering. While they were visiting her mama in Mississippi her son collected fresh eggs daily and since returning home, has turned into an egg snob.
I ended up bartering a weeks worth of eggs for some chocolate, graham crackers, marshmallows and 2 cups of sugar. Word on the street is the HB’s will be getting chickens as soon as their son saves up enough money for a coop.
Homegrown goodness from the backyard garden. This is just a bit of what we collected last week.
Reclaimed Produce – FREE
Thanks to Mr. Produce Guy for another week of imperfect fruits and vegetables. Because we didn’t want to eat peppers for breakfast lunch and dinner, we froze them.
Albertsons Shopping Trip $8.58
I was planning on getting Darigold butter for $1.79 a pound {limit 1, but my daughter was with me so we each got one} but my store was out. They were kind enough to substitute Albertsons butter so I could still get the deal. Tillamook yogurt was on sale for $0.50 each but I had a bunch of B1G1 free coupons so we got them for $0.25 each.
How about YOU? How did you do this past week with your grocery budget?

Bananas are good even when they are extra ripe, and can be used in smoothies.
