This afternoon we stumbled upon the Mont des Arts Kunstberg in Brussels. It was lovely.
Then we made out way over to the Royal Palace, to see the Queen.
She must have forgotten to leave our name with the guards, because they wouldn’t let us in.
So we just snapped a few photos around town instead.
Here is The Girl at the Comic Strip Museum. The museum itself was very nice and the displays were well put together, but we can’t read French, so that was a bit of a problem.
If you’ve ever done any traveling in Europe before, you know how to spot a Frenchmen from 100 yards away. If you haven’t, but would like to, simply look for a well dressed, well groomed man with at least 3 -5 accessories. Designer glasses, a scarf and a man purse handbag are a must. Anything else, like orange runners {sneakers} are just an added bonus.
We also went to the Royal Museums of Fine Art.
And then we stopped at some sort of health food cafe and had lunch. It was awful. Just awful. I thought I was buying a tuna sandwich, but apparently I purchased a radish and weed sandwich.
See? I have no idea what the shiny stuff was, but it tasted like barf. I would have taken a better {second} picture of the worst sandwich I have eaten in my entire life, but the owner threw his arms up in the air for us to stop taking pictures. Like yeah buddy, I really want to steal your AWESOME sandwich recipe with the baralicious dressing.

P.S. We are now off to find some chocolate. I hear they have chocolate shops like every 10 feet at the Grote Market, next to the Grand Place. Wish us luck!

That is why you stick to “street food”/Food truck food….or get a small loaf of fresh bread, find some yummy cheese in a cheese shop and some fruit and you are good to go. That’s my tried and true lunch option when traveling, especially in a large European city where I can’t read the language. Can’t go wrong with bread, cheese and fruit (ok, some veggies too).

LOL! OK, I’m gonna ask the ding-dong question here. Don’t you have a translator on your phone? If not, download a free app quick. Then just punch in the food names you see and know yes you want that or no, you don’t. But you’re kind of granola, that sammy LOOKS like something you’d dig – heh. Stick to the pastries. Yikes.

My phone doesn’t have service overseas… Plus I have like 3 apps on my phone. I’ll have to ask The Girl.

It’s called Marmart. I only know because I have British cousins and have tried it.

Oh my gosh that sandwich looks terrible!! The owner was probably MORE Worried that you were going to report him to the food police! lol
And I don’t know what you bought but it sure looks tasty… I’m surprised that the girl didn’t speak english…when I was there dang near everyone spoke english. Although, I had heard that they like it when you at least TRY to speak french…then when you do and mess it all up they come clean and speak english to you. My french is tres minimal…but I tried! lol

Ick! You should have eaten in the museum’s restaurant. They have really good lemon meringue pie. 🙂
