Market Basket $41.98
The HH asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I told him a steak dinner and a chocolate cream pie, and boy did he ever deliver. Not only did I get a steak on my birthday, but he bought steaks tips as well because he was already going to have the grill fired up and so we had those for dinner a few nights in a row too.
After the birthday feast {and leftovers} my buddy Heather from Massachusetts and I left our husbands behind with a list of projects {I think the list for my husband was a little longer than hers, the poor guy} and went up North {I’ll tell you more about it tomorrow} where we ate like little piggies. It was lovely. And now I look about 5 months pregnant with my food belly and I totally don’t even care.

Lots of treats, but also lots of salad, so it’s balanced. Happy birthday

Mavis, I really appreciate these posts. Recently I’ve started reading about intuitive eating, enjoying food, rejecting diet culture, and listening to your body and what it needs. That is so hard to do when you have been dieting your whole life. You seem to have it down(although I’m not sure you were trying) and are very inspirational to me. Happy birthday!

I thought of you today when I was browsing a Montana tourism magazine. Montana has a ‘Pie a la Road’ trail that goes through 13 counties and 21 stops for pie. It sounds like something you would do and make sure to hit every stop along the way and report back. I am tempted to do it this summer, as I live in Montana, but between the elastic pants I would need and having to buy half a pie each time (3 kids in tow) it would break me. Maybe I could tie it in with a few recreational hikes after a pie stop, kind of like you do with a long walk with a pastry?

Oh my, I am going to have to tell my friend Sue about this. She loves baked goods as much as I do and lives in Montana! Thanks Brianna. 🙂

Happy Birthday Mavis! I would also like to know the recipe for the chocolate cream pie. In addition, I thought I would let you know that my brother loved your latest crock pot recipes you wrote out a couple days ago.
