Hello and Happy Monday! I woke up this morning and immediately checked the temperature outside… 34 degrees! That my friends, is hot cocoa weather and I couldn’t be happier. Puffy coats and flannel jammies here I come.
Market Basket $32.70 {prices have gotten much higher!}
I told the HH I needed a can of pumpkin puree and a small can of mushrooms and since he was going to be near a Market Basket store, he popped in and grabbed a few things. It was the first time he had stepped foot in a Market Basket since our big stock up trip back in early April and he was shocked to see a lot of food items were still not available {canned mushrooms and pumpkin puree being two of them}.
But he did manage to find the Good & Plenty, doughnuts and frozen pizza though so it can’t be that bad at the stores, right? 😉
Some of the meals we ate late week:
Green beans and chicken. Again.
He found some charcoal on a shelf in the garage… so we had BBQ.
And then leftovers the next day.
And then in soup on day three. Note to self: Put BBQ on curb and hope someone picks it up quickly.
Curry chicken… It’s been a while since I’ve made it. I need to make it more.
Salami and cheese. Best snack ever.
Oh… and those beach chairs… I totally traded them. 🙂
Winner winner chicken dinner! They got the chairs, we had dinner for two nights and everyone came out happy. 🙂 Life is good!
Bartering is so much fun… I need to do it more often.
Have a wonderful Monday everyone, stay awesome.
~Mavis

Try Trader Joe’s. They had a lot when I was there last week in Redmond.

I’m drinking hot cocoa right now too! But your mug is WAAAY cooler than mine. I’ve noticed grocery prices getting a bit higher here in Canada, too.

I absolutely LOVE bartering. When the pandemic hit at first, I was able to barter quite a few things.
I love grilled food, but no so much with the BBQ sauce on them. It is too hot in Florida to bbq most of the year too, lol. Have a good week!

I laughed out loud when I read the curb comment. Your sweet HH sure loves barbequing! Glad he has something he enjoys the way you enjoy hooking.

Venice Fla, no pumpkin.

I purchased a case of pumpkin on Amazon. I did not want to be hunting for it in a month when I make Great Pumpkin Cookies. I have already used 3 cans. 🙂

pumpkins..I cook my own..around this area they use neck pumpkins..some people call them squash..My mom used the orange pumpkin..I use whatever I can find..any squash..it is fun to try different ones. I hate when they have pumpkin chunkin..shooting pumpkins as far as they can go..all that good food going to waste.

Mavis, I’m with you on loving the colder temps but I think those who agree with us aren’t many. I’m not a fan of hot, humid, buggy weather and when it gets colder, I’m one happy person! ☺
Also, I’d love to go back and read some of your older posts with tons of great info, so if anyone here knows how to link to your older posts, please comment here and let me know……thank’s so much.
