Hungry Hollow Country Store $47.39
I’m pretty sure that if I was stranded on a desert island and only allowed one food to eat for all eternity, it would be fruit pie. I kid you not. I just cannot pass us up well made pie.
I don’t recall the individual prices for the apple-blueberry pie, or the chicken pie {that I later baked at home} but I do remember the peanut butter cookies {10-12 of them?} were $5.75 and the Throat Coat tea was $6.59 and that the bag full of dried mangos {that were half eaten by the time we got home} were around $5. So maybe the pies were somewhere in the $15 ballpark. Who knows, but man they were good.
And well, because I can’t pass up a good looking pie, we also stopped by Cafe DiCocoa {thanks for the recommendation} and grab another pie {$15.95} there too while The Girl and I were out and about on our day of fun.
Basically, I ate 2 pies in 3 days.
Only giving up two slices to the HH. 🙂 In my book, a fruit pie has all the basic nutrients. Fruit, sugar, dairy {butter} and carbs. Really, why bother with anything else?
After all the pies were gone, the HH made a batch of the Copy Cat Panera Creamy Tomato Soup.
We froze the leftovers {and it’s a good thing because the kitchen demo is in full swing and we might be needing all those leftovers we froze earlier this month if the HH doesn’t get the kitchen done quick!}.
One of our neighbors is a caterer. Did I mention this before? Anywho, he had an abundance of lettuce after an event and gave us a few of his extras.
The HH made a big salad. Which was a welcome treat after all that pie let me tell you.
Market Basket $82.21 {$25 of the bill was steak tips and chicken}.
The original list I made for the HH was steak tips, Brussels sprouts and milk… but I guess he must have been hungry and bought a few extras. 😉
How much would you pay for a large sliced zucchini?
$5.27? Um, no thanks.
Beans, no rice but salsa and sour cream in painters pants and a jammie top.
Newman’s Own pizza. It’s awesome.
Steak tips {cooked on the smoker out in the snow} and veg.
And last but not least, Sunday breakfast {bagel with lox} at our favorite spot after a long walk on the beach. It was a good week with lot’s of my favorite foods. 🙂
Today should will be a high of 44 today here in Maine. Practically SUMMER I tell you, Summer. 🙂 Have a wonderful Monday everyone.

Yikes that’s expensive zucchini! He didn’t buy any, did he? Are you going to plant some this year?
Mavis Butterfield says
No he didn’t buy it. 🙂 Yes, I plan on growing zucchini this year. Three varieties.

You guys seem to have a knack for food styling. My salads are usually just thrown together! When you have pics of pickety-bits they look like they came from a restaurant.

Just wondering….did you HH take the picture of the zucchini or were you with him on the grocery run? Made your 8 can tortilla soup last week. It was great. Had a group of women over for rug hooking at my home. We get together once a week. It was raining, so the soup was comforting. Thanks for the recipe…so simple!
