It was a full week of eating real food… and it was all so lovely. I only left the house once and most days shuffled around the place opening boxes and haphazardly putting things away. Moving into a new space can be sort of weird, especially when there are so many things you want to change, but since we won’t be tackling any projects for the rest of the year {except setting up the guest room} I suppose it doesn’t really matter where all the little things end up, as long as they are out of the way, right?
Oh, and get this… the peeps who bought our old house wanted our kitchen table and chairs {which was fine with us because it wouldn’t have worked in this place anyway} and so guess what we are using as a kitchen table? Guess!
The table that somebody probably died on.
And I couldn’t be happier. 🙂 Take that HH! I still need to find some proper chairs for it though. Who knows… maybe I’ll refinish it and it will become our new dining room table. Wouldn’t that be funny? Yes, yes it would.
I am down to 1 old lady pill every other day. That’s a good sign things are beginning to get back to normal.
Sheet Pan Party Nachos. Always a winner!
Saturday Night Beans… another hit.
And last but not least, Kraft macaroni and cheese. Because hey, why mess with a good thing?
How about YOU? What have you been eating lately? Anything good? Do tell.
Have a fantastic Monday everyone,
~Mavis & Lucy

Mavis, If you have the time (and the inkling would you mind giving us an idea of how you are finding your houses – real estate agent, Zillow, other sources? We’re getting closer and closer to our, hopeful, move to coastal Maine (probably more north) and would love to know how to find a great house. The biggest hurdle is that we’re still in the PNW so weekends out looking are not going to happen. Any advise you might have would be most welcome.
8 months to go

Does your new place have a basement or an extra room for your wool? After looking back at the “table that someone died on” story….I just loved your room in the old house with all the space and wide plank floors.
Glad you are happy being close to the water. Keep a close eye on Lucy so she doesn’t wander to far. Oh, and are you going to get chickens again. I know all your readers, like me, love your stories of your life’s adventures. Thanks for including us.

Mavis,
WOW! all the meals look scrumpcious! Someone is cooking. Isn’t it nice when projects are done for awhile and you can just fall into snuggly blankets and comfort food!
Annette says
What is the entree in the first two pictures?
Mavis Butterfield says
Beetloaf and mashed potatoes. 🙂

When you described the table as the one ”somebody probably died on”, the first thing that came to mind was the table in your last basement. But I think you maybe called it the autopsy table?? I was thinking did they take that one apart and move it? So tell the HH it could be worse than the table you actually have!!! Lol
Mavis Butterfield says
The autopsy table stayed with the house. 🙂
