I’m so excited! In a few hours Mrs. HB will be headed to the airport to hop a flight to Maine. Last night as she was out watering she sent me a bunch of pictures of her garden and I just had to share.
Everything is so green and lush and bursting with color back in the PNW. It’s beautiful.
Mrs. HB and I were neighbors when I started the blog back in 2009 and I think the only thing in her garden was a few daffodil bulbs and the original landscaping that came with her home.
Well fast forward 12 years and you can clearly see she has spent an enormous amount of time planting everything under the sun… and then some.
I am SO excited she is coming for a visit {even if it means eating seafood everyday}. We don’t have a solid plan, but we do have a bunch of places/things we want to see and do on our list so we’ll see what happens.
Today is going to be a great day!
I hope you enjoy these pictures from Mrs. HB’s garden back in Washington.

P.S. If you look closely at the last photo, you can see a hummingbird in the center of the frame telling Mrs. HB not to wear flip flops on the flight here. đ

Mrs. HB has certainly curated a beautiful backyard oasis. It makes me want to put on some fairy wings and frolic around and play in water feature and have some tea and crumpets. Amazing transformation over the years.

Part of me wants to know what everything in the garden is, but PNW doesn’t mean it will grow in hot and humid southern zone 7, so we just have to enjoy from afar. Have a blast, indulge yourself, skip a few days of responsibilities (including blog) and be carefree and joyful while she’s there. You deserve it, and maybe HH needs a little break too!

Thank you all!!! All I have done is added one or two things , that is a grouping of , every year. . Before you know it , its full . Im not a
â Plannerâwith my garden like MS Mavis . Though I love her style as well . I just pick plants that I love . Some that are deer resistant , some that have structural elements , like my Filbert plant. Itâs very interesting when leaves fall off .. some for color at different times of the year . And many that attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds . I have pulled out ones I didnât like that came with the house and transplanted them other places that I donât look at often see but needed something . I try to al lease save them but have learned to let it go and dig up if it doesnât . It has been 15 years !!!
