I love pie. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner 365 days a year. Seriously, I bet I totally could.

Fruit pies are my favorite. Strawberry rhubarb is probably my all time favorite with blackberry or blueberry close behind.

I also love using a French rolling pin. I don’t know why but I find it easier to use than a standard one. Maybe it’s because it’s longer? I don’t know, but along with eating fruit pies, I also like making them. 

And I adore Kate Mc Dermott’s cookbook, the Art of Pie too.

A homemade fruit pie. It’s pretty much the stuff of dreams. Maybe you love pie as much as I do? Or know someone who does? Maybe this is your lucky day. Only time will tell.

All you have to do to enter this giveaway is let me know what your favorite pie of all time is. That’s it. That’s all you have to do.

Life, it’s pretty complicated sometimes, so I like to keep my giveaways pretty simple around here.

1 entry per person/ip address. If you cheat, you will totally be disqualified. {Comments may take an hour or two to be cleared, so please be patient}. 

This giveaway ends Saturday, December 7th @ 10am EST and the winners will be announced on the evening of Saturday, December 7th. You will be notified via email and have 48 hours to claim your prize. If you do not claim your prize within 48 hours, the prize will be forfeited.

    Warm weather favorite is Key Lime Pie. During the holiday season I love Chocolate Chip Bourbon Pecan Pie; but my favorite anytime is a Coconut Cream Pie.

    Pie is better than cake! I love huckleberry pie and second would be cherry pie. No ice cream or whipped cream, just straight pie and warmed up a little.

      Mmmmm…pie! I love pie. I guess my favorite is pumpkin, but apple is fantastic, too. I’m making a cranberry custard pie for a party this weekend. Haven’t tried the recipe yet, so I’m excited to try it!

    My favorite is the butterscotch pie my grandma made! When we were kids, she let us eat it for breakfast too and we thought that was the best thing ever. I miss her every day!

    I think buttermilk chess pie is edging out custard pie as a favorite right now. I also prefer French rolling pins. The handled ones always feel clunky to me.

    You’re asking the really tough questions this week, Mavis! If I had to pick just one pie that I could eat for the rest of my life, I think I would choose cherry. BUT, if I could I would also love peach, lemon and pecan! That rolling pin is amazing and so happy to see it’s from Asheville. The people of western North Carolina are really hurting right now.     My favorite is any homemade pie from any fresh homegrown fruit. I despise store-bought pies of all kinds and am 50-50 on bakery pies. If pushed to choose, homemade apple is my favorite. Thanks for the giveaway!

    Oh this is actually a hard question. I love the orange Christmas spice pie from O-Pie-O and the Coconut and Mac Nut pie at Leoda’s. But my SIL makes the best banana cream pie. Oh, I think my favorite pie flavor is “pie”! Because I love them all!

    Key Lime, without a doubt!

    At the Big E (huge New England agricultural fair in Mass) there was a vendor who sold slices of key lime pie dipped in dark chocolate. Glorious! Sadly, they are no longer there.

    I love every pie and I grew up in a pie baking family. I rolled crusts for my Mom from a young age. I did crusts and she did fillings. My Aunt would make 20 or more pies at one time and pie was eaten for every meal and in between. My most favorite though was a rhubarb custard pie that Mom used to make. I bet it has been 15 years since I had that but it sure lives on in my memory!

    This giveaway is right up alley! I celebrate Pi day with a variety of Pie’s. My favorite is Marionberry Pie with Marionberries from the family farms of Northwest Washington. I *may* have bags of frozen berries in my freezer awaiting a pie crust. BUT one does not live on Marionberry Pie alone so this giveaway is perfection!

    Lemon meringue is definitely my favorite, but really, is there a bad pie? Maybe sour cream raisin, because cooked raisins remind me of big fat ticks that my daughter used to remove from her dog. I have a French rolling pin, vintage 1989, gifted me by my boyfriend. Kept the rolling pin, lost the BF.

    My favorite pie is wild black raspberry. My dad used to forage black raspberries in the summer. He would stock pile the freezer. He was able to get over 100 quarts a summer. My mom was the local pie lady. She would make 10 pies at a time. (My max is 2) She sold them in our small town. They were sold before they came out of the oven.

    Growing up we always had Egg Custard pie as a holiday treat and it is still my favorite. I also enjoy Lemon Meringue, Key Lime, Pumpkin, Pecan. We usually make cobblers from berries or fruit.

    Hi-Favorite I guess is good ol apple pie. However I do love all pies, I do make pumpkin with real whipped cream at Thanksgiving, and mince at Christmas (I love, my husband is not a fan), but my mom always made so I have to keep up the tradition.

    My favorite pie of all time is Pecan Pie. My mom always made the recipe from the Dear Abbey newspaper article. It is the same one I make. When in a professional baking class I did a class project on pecan pies switching up the sweetener.
    I did one with white sugar and dark corn syrup
    One with brown sugar and light corn syrup
    One with white sugar and Molasses
    And one with white sugar and buckwheat honey (my favorite honey.
    People preferred the white sugar, dark syrup best.
    I got an A on the project.

    My favorite is Macadamia Coconut Pie. It’s similar in consistency to Pecan Pie, but tastes lighter. I make it every year over Christmas time. But I wouldn’t turn down a warm slice of blackberry pie with vanilla ice cream!

    My favorite pies are mixed berries or berries and fruit. For Thanksgiving I made an apple-cranberry tart with rosemary custard that also had rosemary in the shell and it was absolutely delicious!! I got the recipe from BHG – was a bit wary about the rosemary but everything pared perfectly.

    Pies seem to be a lost art with the younger generations. I love an Amish apple pie (apples in a custard with a crumb topping). Yummm. And of course, there is the simple pumpkin pie as well.

    OK. Favorite hands-down is maple pecan. But you had me at “pie”! Just last night I was researching recipes for savory hand pies! But then you had to mention the French rolling pin, too. And just last week I had to take myself firmly in hand over some catalog I was looking at and say, “NO, Pauline, you do NOT need a French rolling pin — your 50-year-old one will probably outlast you.” (But, if I should win… my daughter wouldn’t have to wait until I was dead to get my old one , so WIN-WIN!!)

    Goodness! My all time favorite pie is pecan, but due to an nut allergy in my home, I rarely get anything with nuts in order to avoid an episode with the epi-pen. I inherited a fear of making pie crusts. I would love this cookbook because it could help me get over that inherited fear! I love to bake. Maybe I’ll become a pie maker at my ripe old age of 70! BTW, if I purchase a pie, my husband will eat it for breakfast, too.

    I love a good cherry pie! I never get it because I am the only one in my world that would enjoy it. Strawberry rhubarb is another pie that I really enjoy. I make a lot of pumpkin because my family always picks pumpkin. I would love that rolling pin!!

    My favorite pie would be pacific berry. It’s a variety my husband’s grandfather grew and I can’t find a nursery that sells them anywhere. Sort of like a marionberry but better. I kept my freezer full of them back in the day. They made the best pies!

    How on earth can one pick a single variety of pie as their favorite?! This is a cruel task! A slice of lemon meringue on a hot July night….ahhhh. A wedge of fresh peach pie with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream? Summer in a bowl. Or, what about a slice of homemade, warm, flaky-crusted apple pie. No cheese (sacrilege), not even ice cream. Just a large dollop of freshly whipped cream. I could die a happy woman. And what about in the dead of winter, with a cup of too-hot-to-even-sip coffee, accompanied by a prim slice of French Silk pie, also with that freshly whipped cream. And there are so many more. Omy. I just cannot pick one. I can’t…!

    My favorite kind of pie is any and all pies. Never met a pie I didn’t like whether sweet or savory. I love making pies although I’m not very good. I was taught by my grandmother who was legally blind. Unfortunately when she died her recipes died with her because they were in her head and not written down. I loved baking with her. The only recipes of hers that I had written down was her cabbage salad, chicken and homemade noodles and her pie crust. Her favorite pie to make that I love is her water pie. If you never heard of it google it.

    many pies have that claim!
    I also LOVE Peanut Butter Pie, Coconut Cream Pie, Key Lime Pie and any kind of quiche, which I totally think counts as a savory pie!

    Mavis, You find such beautiful things and they are often such great gift ideas, thank you! I am soooo excited to learn that the linens are created in Lithuania!!!! My mother-in-law would tear up at receiving linen from Lithuania, her parents were both from there. My spouse grew up in a Lithuanian neighborhood in central Massachusetts and has the fondest memories of grandma’s homemade apple pie!!! You inspired me to look up if there is a secret ingredient in Lithuanian apple pie and there are recipes online!! I could really gain some good brownie-points (pie-points!?!) making a Lithuanian apple pie and serving it with beautiful linen from Lithuania!! 🙂

    I didn’t grow up eating pie. Both parents are from another country, so I thought pies only came in walmart flavors – apple, pecan, pumpkin. On the evening I met my MIL she served a blueberry rhubarb pie and it blew my mind. I fell utterly and completely in love with fruit pies. My favorites being with stone fruits- peach, nectarine, plums. Huzzah!

    My all time favorite is a tart cherry pie! We have one pie cherry tree that I have to fight with the robins to have enough for pies so they are like gold! I’ve been wanting to try a French rolling pin – this would be fun!

    I love pie with a good light flaky crust. Peach, Blueberry, Cranberry is my favorite, so yummy with all those fruits mixed together! Any pie is good if the crust is light and flaky. 🙂

    Strawberry rhubarb in the spring/summer. Crisp apple in the fall/winter.
    Spoiled in the Pacific Northwest to have such great fresh from the field seasonal choices! Pie book looks like a way to explore other options.

For years my “birthday cake” has been coconut cream pie slathered with real whipped cream, HH loves strawberry rhubarb, and I love a warm german chocolate pie, But like others I’d eat any pie any day.     I also love just about any kind of pie but my favorite is a simple chocolate pie. Tried a new one recently – crustless cranberry pie and it was delicious especially with some vanilla ice cream.

    My favorite pie is my son’s Apple Pie! He uses 5-6 lbs of Granny Smith apples, slices them thin, and arranges them slice by slice! Beautiful looking and even better tasting!

    Local place used to do a pie they called French apple cream cheese. I loved it. Alas, now they only make regular apple pie. It’s lovely too, and my current fave.

    Dutch apple pie is my favorite! But I love pretty much any pie, and reading through all of these comments is making me so hungry! My daughters and I planned on making 52 different pies a few years ago and it promptly fell by the wayside, maybe this is the year! It’s my oldest’s last year at home so the pressure is on!

    Mavis, I had neighbor who was a master pie maker! Her secret was to use cold vodka instead of water for the crust!! She made perfect pies doing this!

    It’s a toss up for me. Cranberry-raspberry pie or gooseberry pie. I fell in love with gooseberries while living in The Netherlands. Unfortunately they are hard to find here.

    (When I was little I didn’t like the chocolate part so my Grandma
    would make me a little pot pie size pie with just crust and meringue. She called it a Susie-Pearl pie (her middle name was Pearl)

    Pumpkin Chiffon is my favorite kind of pie, with apple pie coming in second , really any kind of fruit pie! Pie is king in our house, nice flaky pie crust. King Arthur has some amazing recipes! Love to make and eat all the pie!!!
