My 14 Goals for 2020
Goal #1 – Take Full Advantage of Having My Husband Home 24/7
This week I had the HH to paint the rest of the white picket fence for me using his fancy new paint sprayer. What would have taken me all day to paint by hand with a paint brush, he was able to accomplish in about 30 minutes. Take about a time saver!
Goal #2 – Take Better Care of Myself.
Beach walks at sunrise with Lucy. You just never know you are going to find. And I love it.
Goal #3 – Get Organized
Now that I am {somewhat} caught up on my wool dyeing, and the garden is in maintenance mode, I am finally starting to tackle all the home improvement projects I have been wanting to get to this summer. And you know what, it’s pretty darn exciting. I wake up everyday looking forward to the next thing on my list and by the end of the day, I am usually able to check something off.
Goal #4 – Get Proper Window Coverings on All Our Windows.
Taking a break on this project, but will put it up again in the fall. This is the tutorial I used in case anyone is interested.
Goal #5 – Master Bedroom Make Over {almost done!}
This past week I finished the second closet in our bedroom so I’m pretty happy about that. The trim paint I had ordered from the Home Depot finally arrived and so this week I’ll be able to paint the shutter doors on the other closet.
I plan on getting started on refinishing the floors later this month {or early September} I’m still trying to decide what color of stain I want to use.
Still left to do:
Paint Writing Desk a Glossy BlackFinish the 2nd closet- Paint the Creamy Closet Doors White
- Refinish the Floors
Goal #6 – Kitchen Update
All that’s left to do is paint the kitchen cabinets which we’ll do as soon as the temps drop and there is a nice breeze. Spraying cabinets in 80 degree heat just does not appeal to us.
Goal #7 – Install Vegetable Garden Done!
Currently harvesting: Basil, dill, chives, blueberries, tomatoes, cucumbers and watching Mel, our baby watermelon get bigger and bigger each day.
Goal #8 – Explore More of Maine
Hey! We went on a little adventure with our elderly neighbors, and found a new ice cream stand. I’ll tell you all about it in a few days.
Goal #9 – Host Some Sort of Get Together Done!
Does having a yard sale count? Yes, I think it does. 😉
Goal #10 – Read/Listen to 12 Books
No new audiobooks this week but I did watch Take Joy: The Magical World of Tasha Tudor {it’s included with Amazon Prime this month}. I enjoyed it so much, I think I’ll watch it again the next time I’m stringing ornaments.
Currently waiting to read:

Goal #11 – Learn A New Skill or Craft

Goal #12 – Visit 12 Museums, Historical Homes or Botanical Gardens {and bakeries too!}
Sadly a lot of museums and botanical gardens are not open {or the effort is go is too great} that this goal has sort of fizzled. It started out great, but quickly went downhill. 🙁

Goal # 13 – Reach 5,000 Etsy Sales by the End of The Year
As of this morning, I have made 4639 sales on Etsy. That’s up from 2804 on January 1st! Only 361 sales to go before I hit my goal. On Friday I listed oodles of handmade items; pillows, make do’s, fall themed ornaments, and even a few sets of sunflowers.
I haven’t had a whole lot of extra time this summer to sit down and make all the pieces I had planned on, but hopefully after I get all my house projects out of the way by late summer, it will carve a path for a slow and relaxing winter here in Maine.
Goal #14 – Once a Month Menu Planning {for 2}
- The HH’s meal plan for the month: Snacking & BBQ
- My meal plan for the month: Ice Cream, Pie, Salads and Pickety Bits

All the white paint (inside and outside) looks so crisp and fresh! Do all your ceilings have bead board like the photo shown today? SO pretty.
Mavis Butterfield says
I started working on the laundry room, that’s the bead board in today’s photo. But all the rooms {with exception to the kitchen} and have some of cool trim on the ceiling. I love it. 🙂

Never heard of Tasha Tudor, but watched that today. What an interesting lady and life. Would like to visit her Corgie Villegas’s one day.

For floor stain, I’d recommend something light enough to hide the daily lints and dust, but dark enough to make the white kitchen cabinets pop. We restained ours with a Early American and it looks good with white trim and white cabinets.

Kitchen and gardens look awesome! More motivation for us :)! Hope you guys are doing well!
