Eat More Fruits and Vegetables
I popped into Trader Joe’s the other day and loaded up on fruits and veggies. The HH wanted to know why I didn’t go to Costco instead and I was like… Because their sacks of produce are just too big for us!
Visit 24 {new} Bakeries / Coffee Shops
I couldn’t stop thinking about our trip to Standard Baking Company and ended up ordering their book. Fingers crossed it’s filled with all my favorite things. It should be here any day now.
New Bakeries / Coffee Shops I’ve Been To This Year:
Go On An Adventure
I’ve decided on my first adventure for the year. It involves an airport. I have to do something first before I can go… But holy cow man, it’s going to be AWESOME.
Contribute to 12 Free Little Libraries. {3 town down, 9 to go}
I didn’t donate to any new little libraries this past week nor did I visit any library book sales to acquire craft books.
Towns I’ve donated books to:
- Gardiner, Maine
- Nobleboro, Maine
- Kennebunk and Kennebunkport
Tidy Up / Clean Out / Purge
Absolutely NO purging this past week. And mostly likely I won’t until after I get all my wool dyed. Focus. Focus. Focus. That’s the plan.
- Barn
- Garage
- Closets
- Dresser drawers
- Kitchen
- Sideboard
- DVD collection
Read or Listen to 24 Books {4 down, 20 to go}
I finished These Precious Days by Ann Pachett and gave it a 9.5 out of 10. There were a couple of bits in there that I wasn’t fond of but other than that, it was lovely. Next up, Me & Patsy Kickin’ Up Dust: My Friendship with Patsy Cline by Loretta Lynn.
Books I’ve Read or Listened To This Year:
- Grateful American: A Journey from Self to Service by Gary Sinise. 10/10
- Elizabeth The Queen: The Life of a Modern Monarch by Sally Bedell Smith 9/10
- Wait Till Next Year by Dorris Kearns Goodwin 8/10
- George VI and Elizabet:by Sally Bedell Smith 9/10
- Steve Jobs by Walter Issacson 9/10
- These Precious Days by Ann Pachett 9.5/10
Spend More Time At The Beach
I didn’t make it to the beach this past week but I did see shell topped toothpicks for $9.99. Which was high up there on the interesting disposable products ladder if you ask me.
Paint
I can’t stop!!! I should be hooking but this past week I painted Red Boats at Argenteuil by Claude Monet. So far I’ve painted 5 paint by numbers this year. Who knows how many more there will be, I’m obsessed.
So far I’ve finished:
In Stock and Ready to Ship by March 15th / March 30th
I was able to get a bunch of wool bundles listed in my Etsy shop this weekend, which was nice. The plan is to get all the wool dyed by March 30th and all my patterns drawn by March 15th. Kits, somewhere in between.
Hook 6 “Big” Rugs.
I am still currently working on large rug #2 and #3. I wasn’t able to get a lot of wool strips pulled though as I was super busy dyeing and bundling wool. I really hope I can get the 2 larger rugs I had planned on getting done in Febraury by the end of this month though. We’ll see.
Large Rugs I’ve Hooked This Year
Visit 6 Greenhouses {that I’ve never been to before}.
No visits to any greenhouses this past week, but I already know which one I want to go to first.
Grow Baby Grow
Everything is now a soggy mess again thanks to the storm that rolled in last night. I suspect it will be another month or so before I can get outside with any sort of regularity and start working in the garden again.
Which is fine by me right now seeing how I want to get all my wool projects done first. I love living in New England! And I especially love being able to enjoy each season as it rolls on in.
Donate to 12 Different Organizations in Maine
So far I have picked up 50 pairs of socks to donate to a women’s shelter and purchased supplies off the Camp Sunshine wish list. Now I just need to wait until I am in the area of both places to drop them off. For March I think I’ll be donating to an animal shelter.
So how are YOUR goals for 2024 coming along? I’d love to hear about them.

For years, what Sunday morning has meant to me has been: delivery of the fat NYT and reading through your juicy Sunday posts. Love it so much! Your paintings are making me want to try.

PS the “red boats” painting kit is 25% off right now!

Another lovely painting. I will resist the temptation, I WILL resist the temptation, I WILL RESIST THE TEMPTATION to buy a paint by number kit!!!! You make it look so easy. I just have a sneaky feeling that it wouldn’t be!
I’ve been working on my craft room for WEEKS! I think I may finally be getting close to the end of it’s reworking. I have sorted and purged and re-sorted and purged some more. rearranged everything basically to make it more functional. I had most of my paper in travel type containers for a long time because I didn’t have a dedicated craft room. Now that I do have a dedicated space those containers just didn’t work anymore. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos to see what how other people stored their paper crafting supplies and it really helped me to make a plan! A few new containers later and my paper is much more accessible and so are my other supplies. I tried it out yesterday and I just need to tweak it a little more and I think I’ll be ready to craft with ease!
I see a NEW craft for you in the pictures today. Are you going to give it a go???

Glad you got the book. I’m tempted as well so can’t wait to hear what you think.
I don’t know how you feel about ordering from Temu but their paint by number kits are in the $7 to $10 range. Your kit supplier is from china so I would imagine the quality would be the same.

One of my goals was to take a day off work to clean out my bedroom and closet, and I plan to do that next week. If I have time, I will also do the basement and some other small areas.
Another goal was to get all baby appointments organized, and I did that initially, but it’s sort of a moving target. We have 4 more referrals to specialists we need to pick up this week, and then I’ll need to schedule those. Most of them will require 4 hours round trip of driving, so the logistics with work and other things are tricky.
It wasn’t a goal for this year exactly, but I just redid our playroom again. I find it needs a refresh every few months as he grows. If it ever warms up, I also need to get outdoor play areas set up.

Does it count as a donation if you haven’t actually delivered it yet? 🙂

I’m listening to Parnassus on Wheels right now – and loving it! I have laughed out loud several times. It’s a classic but doesn’t feel like it was written over one hundred years ago!

Just an FYI. Last Spring I ordered some sandals from Temu. They were cheaply made but fit well. I was then notified by my bank that someone tried using my card number, for cosmetics. Twice in England and once in Denmark. I live in Canada. Wear almost no makeup and rarely order online. I would not order from them again.
