Eat More Fruits and Vegetables
Currently craving a giant bowl of salt potatoes. Note to self: Buy baby potatoes this week.
Visit 24 {new} Bakeries / Coffee Shops
I feel like I am a little behind on this goal but we did visit pastry shop #5 recently. The pastries were so pretty though, they deserve a post of their own so I’ll wait and tell you where we went and what we tried soon.

- Ritual Bakehouse and Patisserie
- Standard Baking Co.
- Saltwater Farm Cafe
- Coffee Roasters of the Kennebunks
Go On An Adventure
My first adventure of the year will have to wait just a little bit as I have something else in the works that I need to concentrate on first. 🙂 But I am SUPER excited about where I have chosen to go. Never in a million years would anyone guess where it is. I’m sure of it.

Spend More Time At The Beach
There was so much foam at the beach this weekend, it was nuts! Lucy had a good time walking in it though, even if she did need a bath afterwards.
Lucy would spend all her time at the beach searching for crunchy baby crabs if she could. It’s a big treasure hunt everytime we go and I think that’s what keeps it interesting.
Paint
I am currently working “Goldfish” By Henri Matisse and I already have my next paint by numbers all lined up.
So far I’ve finished:
- Portrait of Joseph Roulin
- Red Boats at Argenteuil
- Regattas at Argenteuil
- Vase with Cornflowers and Poppies
- Sunflowers
- Garden Path with Chickens
In Stock and Ready to Ship by March 15th/ March 30th Now April 15th
It was another extremely productive week dyeing wool and drawing patterns. I just have a few more kits to put together {today and tomorrow} and then I will be done and can focus on other things. Yee-Haw. I’m nearly there.
Hook 6 “Big” Rugs.
I finished hooking the Yankee Doodle rug but won’t count it as “completed” until I finish stitching up the edges {tonight}. Then, after that’s done, I’ll have 3 large rugs hooked for this year and I’ll be halfway though this goal.
Large Rugs I’ve Hooked This Year
Visit 6 Greenhouses {that I’ve never been to before}.
No visits to any greenhouses this past week, but I already know which one I want to go to first.
Grow Baby Grow
The garden finally thawed and I was able to get my radish seeds planted. I’m hoping to get a few more seeds in the ground in the next day or two.
Donate to 12 Different Organizations in Maine
Nothing new to report in the donations department this past week but I’ve started a list and I’m looking forward to making my 4th donation to a local Maine charity in April.
So Far This Year I’ve Donated To:
- New Hope MidCoast {50 pairs of new socks}
- Humane Society {180 trays of cat food}
*I still need to Drop off the art supplies to Camp Sunshine
So how are YOUR goals for 2024 coming along? I’d love to hear about them.

One of the things that our local food bank asks for is female sanitary supplies and toilet paper. I cannot imagine being so poor that I cannot afford toilet paper, so that is what my donation to them always consists of. Since I can order it to go directly from Amazon, it is easy for me to do.

We tried a new bakery yesterday and it was delicious. They had our favorite pastry, a kouign amann. Have you ever tried them, Mavis? I bet there are some bakeries in Maine that make them. They are like flaky sweet croissants folded up and caramelized. My husband also got a chocolate croissant, it was okay. My second pastry was a monkey bread, it was tasty!
Mavis Butterfield says
Yes!! Kouign amann are delicious! I always get one when I see them.

I’m beginning a crazy couple of months where I have a huge project at work, have to apply for a permanent position, need to schedule the next wave of toddler medical appointments, and need to work in vacation time for our nanny. So, my short term goal is to get through all that.
The start of stretch at work coincided exactly with our toddler’s first stomach bug and our washing machine needing to be replaced. Washer arrived Friday, right as my husband came down with whatever the toddler had, so I spent the weekend washing all clothes and bedding.

I think your next adventure has something to do with your love of painting.
Maybe painting the Japanese Bridge at the Water Lily Pond ?
Mavis Butterfield says
Nope. 🙂
