Eat More Fruits and Vegetables
The HH decided to go to Costco THE DAY BEFORE Thanksgiving to pick up fresh garland and wreaths and couldn’t resist buying a few “salad” things while he was there.
Shopping at Costco the day before Thanksgiving, that’s nuts!!
Visit 24 {new} Bakeries / Coffee Shops
It was so busy at the buoy factory last week that I didn’t get a chance to visit a coffee shop. Research, it’s hard to find time to fit it in sometimes.
We did get all the buoys painted though, and the outside of the house decorated. I’ll share some pictures tomorrow. I think it might be our best holiday display yet.

Spend More Time At The Beach
Walking at the beach was rather chilly this past week. Not a lot of people there {yay!} but super cold. I wasn’t really looking for heart shaped rocks, but I found 2 anyway.
I should probably ramp up my efforts, as Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and people will be looking for them on Etsy.
Read or Listen to 24 Books {15 down, 9 to go}
This past week I listened to Tom Cruise by Andrew Morton. It’s not someone I was all that interested in but the library had it on sale for only $1 so I figured, why not. Interesting fella. And I’ll leave it at that. 🙂

Grow Baby Grow
Two of the pink amaryllis bulbs are in bloom and they couldn’t be prettier. The third one has decided to take its own sweet time, which is fine by me.
Maybe that one will bloom for Christmas. We’ll see.
I can’t decide which one I like best. The pink or the white.

Goals I’ve Already Completed This Year
Go On An Adventure DONE
I went to England and had a jolly good time. And I can’t wait to go back!
In Stock and Ready to Ship by March 15th/ March 30th Now April 15th DONE!
I finally finished up all the major wool dyeing and pattern/kit making I had hoped too. All the “extra” wool is tucked away in bins so if I run out of wool in my Etsy shop I can whip up some more bundles in a jiffy. A summer off from dyeing wool… It’s going to be pretty rad.
Tidy Up / Clean Out / Purge DONE
We cleaned the whole house, inside and out. And then we sold it. Yee-Haw!

We went to Costco on Wednesday too (around 5pm) & it was basically empty. I was shocked & so glad! We were shopping for a few things for the new house, & I knew I didn’t want to step foot in there over the weekend. That was definitely a good choice! We’ve been there a few other times in the evenings & it’s always slow. I’ll never shop there during the day again, if I can help it.

My goal was to celebrate holidays more, and I managed to cook Thanksgiving dinner for the first time in 3 years. I also finished the Christmas quiet book I made for my toddler, so that’s all set for him for St. Nicholas Day. I just need to take some pictures.
I also managed to put up a few toddler-proof decorations around the house (mostly in the form of toys that double as decorations), and I finished Christmas shopping, including making Advent calendars for two friends.

I had 21 things on my Goals List, but I crossed 4 of them off as they were unrealistic. That left me 17 things to get done and I only have 2 things left to do. It really does help to write them down. Mainly because I would forget some of them . . . ha ha.

The pink amaryllis is beautiful! So is the chicken rug. And those buoys are adorable. Your husband is a saint or nuts for going anywhere (but especially Costco) the day before Thanksgiving.
Kathy Christiansen says
Those amaryllis are gorgeous!

Those amaryliss bulbs are stunning. Has anyone read or listened to Cher’s new memoir? I can’t say I’m a fan but it does sound interesting. Dolly Parton sounds like a fantastic woman so I might try that one.

Had to show you this. It’s the home of “rag picture” artist Monica Gross-Hodge. It’s a free article of UK’s house and garden. The home is wonderfully over the top British but check out her unique interpretation of hooking.

I saw that! I thoughjt it was interesting that the backgrounds were not filled in.

Hey there-
Question. I just ordered my first paint by number -what tips do you have? Do you use an easel? If so-what do you use?
Many thanks
S
Mavis Butterfield says
I don’t use an easel, I just paint at the kitchen table. 🙂 The only tip I really have is that I found if you sort of glob the paint on, it looks better than if you were to paint gingerly. I hope that makes sense.
Lisa Millar says
The Chicken Stroll rug is FABULOUS!
It looks amazing and makes me smile!
Virginia says
The pink amaryllis is stunning, and I love the tall slim pots too. Did you pot those up yourself or did you buy them pre-potted? (If pre-potted, I’d love to know where.)
Mavis Butterfield says
I potted them up myself. 🙂
Judy says
I really love those buoys you did. They look like fun!
