Lower Cholesterol / Reduce Stress
Did you see the full moon last week? What a beauty! It kind of makes you forget about everything else. I love how full moons light up the sky and how you can stand outside in the middle of the night … It all seems so magical.
Eat More Fruits and Vegetables
Most of my fruits and vegetables this past week were in dried form {dehydrated fruit and dried beans}. But hey, that totally counts, right?
Visit 24 {new} Bakeries / Coffee Shops
I am still swooning over the treats we had from the Standard Baking Company I seriously don’t know how any other pastry shop {in the US} is going to top the place. I don’t even know if I want to try.
I actually walked in and walked right out of two bakeries last week. I didn’t want to waste my treat calories on subpar items. I guess that makes me a pastry snob.
New Bakeries / Coffee Shops I’ve Been To This Year:
Go On An Adventure
I’ve decided on my first adventure for the year. I told the HH about it and he just looked at me like I was on drugs. Which means I picked a winner!!! I have to do something first before I can go… But holy cow man, it’s going to be AWESOME.

Spend More Time At The Beach
I didn’t make it to the beach this past week. 🙁 But I did start a new paint by numbers.
Paint
Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh. I took me less than 48 hours to paint it. Hmmm… Maybe that’s why I’m not getting as much hooking time in as I need too. I made a point to really built up the paint on this one “like the original}.
So far I’ve finished:
In Stock and Ready to Ship by March 15th / March 30th
I still have a ton I need to bundle up. Hopefully I can get the next round listed in my Etsy shop by next weekend. The plan is to get all the wool dyed by March 30th and all my patterns drawn by March 15th. Kits, somewhere in between.
Hook 6 “Big” Rugs.
I am still currently working on large rug #2 and #3. I was hoping to finish them both in February, but now the goal is the end of March.
Large Rugs I’ve Hooked This Year
Visit 6 Greenhouses {that I’ve never been to before}.
No visits to any greenhouses this past week, but I already know which one I want to go to first.
Grow Baby Grow
Fresh peas! I think I’m going to start my peas inside this week. The weather is still a little too wonky to plant any outside yet. Super cold one minute, warm temps and rain the next. It’s a bit of a crapshoot right now.
Donate to 12 Different Organizations in Maine
So far I have picked up 50 pairs of socks to donate to a women’s shelter and purchased supplies off the Camp Sunshine wish list. Now I just need to wait until I am in the area of both places to drop them off. For March I think I’ll be donating to an animal shelter.
So how are YOUR goals for 2024 coming along? I’d love to hear about them.

Last week’s moon is traditionally called the snow moon and often appears smaller, as the moon is as far from earth in its orbit as it gets all year. It was spectacular! (I work at a kids STEM museum that is in the path of totality for the 4/8 eclipse so we’re talking A LOT about the sun and moon these days!)
Honeybee says
Katelyn I am so envious of you being in the path of totality for the 4/8 eclipse. I witnessed it in Aug 2017. It blew my mind. I hope to find myself in the path this year.

Ann Pachett is one of my favorite authors. I just love her books. I’m glad that you are enjoying her book too!

I have now completed 11 things on my “Things to do” list (10 more to go). I was busy completing those items and slacked off on crocheting. Now I can get back to it. The rest of the items on the list will take a lot more time to complete – I got all the easy stuff done first . . . 🙂
Tomorrow I am planning on buying lettuce, kale and romaine plants that will go in my raised planter. Hubby is going to till the garden in the next week or so – once that is done, I will buy the rest of my plants and seeds and get the garden going (probably mid-March). Come on Spring!

I can’t believe you walked out of TWO bakeries!!! Such willpower! I could never do it!
How exciting that you have picked an adventure to go on! Can’t wait to hear all about it!
Linda says
What about the two bakeries made you walk out? Smells? nasty? Way the pastries looked?
Mavis Butterfield says
They were just okay… Nothing special. Why waste time/calories on run of the mill pastries? I’d rather hold out for the good ones. 🙂
Amanda says
I haven’t made my list for 2024 yet, I traditionally do it on my birthday, 9 th March, but may well add your visit bakeries to my list!
Totally agree that life too short to have just ok pastries!
Re Cholesterol,I managed to reduce mine by adding in intermittent fasting, just eating within a smaller time window. Might be worth a try!
