Here’s my big list of things I want to accomplish in 2022:
Remodel The Kitchen
We just signed off on our final design plans for the kitchen cabinets and that feels good. They won’t be installed until September, but still, it feels nice to have all that done. We also decided on the pulls for the drawers, and the latches for the cabinets too. Yee-Haw.

Maybe this fall?
Be More Intentional With My Time
It was another great week here in Maine. 🙂 Lot’s of gardening, time out on the water, rug hooking and eating beans and rice. Seriously, what more could a girl ask for?
1 Craft / Blog Free Day {I’ve had 22 craft/blog free days this year so far.}
Keep My Husband Busy
It was a busy week for the HH. The work just never ends for that man. 🙂
There were some old timbers down by the water {the previous owners stored their kayaks on them} so the HH brought them up closer to the house so he could use them for stacking wood. Something tells me he’s going to need a lot more timbers to get all 4 cords of the wood stacked.
The HH’s Honey Do List {so far} for 2022

Sand the floors in the entire houseDONE- Install new garage door openers {new addition}
My House Projects For This Year {so far}
I still need to paint the back of the house! But I’m having so much fun in the garden… I can’t seem to get anything else done. I love this time of year. There is so much to do from sun up to sun down and although I love winter, it feels really nice to be outside all the time in the sunshine too.

- Finish painting the inside of the house

Get a Fishing License and Catch a Fish
But first, we have to get the dinghy in the water.
HH if you are reading this HURRY UP and get us some fishing poles!!!
We talked with a guy who was fishing off the dock by the General Store {and catching mackerel to use as bait}. He told us where he goes fishing for striped bass and it turns out it’s right around the corner from us. Exciting! Now… if we just had some poles.

Our spring crops just finished and we succession planted our second round of summer crops this week – mostly melons, cucumbers and beans. The late summer/fall starts are in full swing too with brassicas, winter squashes, and lots of greens. We potted up the flower experiments I cold stratified in the fridge a few months ago (70% germination rate!). We are harvesting and drying herbs and berries like mad, and used herbs in some fresh bread for the week today. We also made a small bit of progress on clearing the space for the new patio we are installing next year and weeded the new flower garden out front (still waiting on a chip drop for mulch). The last bathroom to remodel (for now) had its walls repaired, sanded, primed, and ready to paint and I bought the wood for the new shelves yesterday. It was a busy week, as we did all this on top of our full-time jobs. The extra sunlight is giving us a needed boost in energy.

Mavis,
So happy that you are just about at your mark for your NEW stove. I really can’t wait to see the renovated kitchen! Should be beautiful! Have fun with the project.
Veronica says
I’m curious if your stove total includes the Etsy fees and income tax on all your sales. I know the income tax on my business is surprisingly high.

Boothbay Harbor is my favorite place to visit. I visited there with my husband twice & someday I will return. Your blog lifts me up & puts a smile on my face. Happy Gardening!

When I was a kid I used to detest the “educational” field trips our school typically visited.
However, that exact TAFFY you showed was my only saving grace! I could always find one in the gift store! Score!

Regarding the fishing poles, your most efficient, fun, and cost-effective method of “research” would be to book a day trip fishing with a local guide. Ask them what poles, reels, line, jigs, etc. to get and how to manuever your boat while fishing (moving, circling, keeping it in neutral, etc.). They’ll be able to help you determine best time of day to go, what weather conditions are ideal for the fish you want, and possibly even their secret spots! Then, go to whatever local shop they recommend and go from there. SOOO much easier than trying to do research on your own. Pole + bait/ jig configurations are hyper-local, and internet research won’t be your best technique. AND, it would be a fun date day! 🙂
