Online Things
Things are going pretty well in the online department. I was able to finish up dyeing all the wool I had wanted to and since then, I’ve had much, much more time on my hands.
It feels good to have all that done and this past week was pretty much the first week in 3+ months that I’ve been able to SLOW down… And that has felt really, really good.
I made some serious progress on my second giant whale rug of the year and I am hoping to be able to finish it up either today, or tomorrow.
With a little luck, I’ll be able to get the rest of it hooked, then steamed, then finished by this time next weekend.
I’m still doing great at staying on task and not picking up my phone so much.
I also cleaned out the craft room and listed a few patterns and other supplies I know I won’t get too so that has freed up some space in my teeny tiny workspace in the house.
This next week I am hoping to tidy up the second floor of the barn and add a few more offerings to my Etsy page but that will depend on the weather.
It’s no fun to work in a cold barn {even with a snowsuit on!}. 😉

House Things
The next “house” project is to paint the front screen door. We have plans to paint the front door and the garage door too, but we need some better weather for that.
At least with the screen door, the HH and take it off and I can paint it inside.
I also need to finish painting the wall with all the pipes in the downstairs bathroom but it’s going to be such a pain that I am coming up with other projects to work on so I can avoid it. 🙂
If I could just muster up the patience to do it, then we could hang the mirror {that’s on the floor} and the pictures that are in the cupboard and free up some space.
We did get rid of a giant mirror {it only took about 45 minutes from someone to grab it off the street} and a small side table {that was gone in less than 2 minutes!}. It’s been VERY entertaining to see how fast stuff goes, that’s for sure.
- Paint The Inside Of The House {including closets!}
- Paint The Interior Window Trim
- Remodel Bathroom #1
- Freshen up Bathroom #2
- Put Stuff On The Walls
- Work on “new” Kitchen Game Plan
Garden Things
While we were cleaning out the barn last week I found the anemone corms that I had bought last fall so those will get hydrated and planted this week into containers.
Our leek, onion, artichoke and petunia seedlings are going really well and I I have “plant peas and basil” on my todo list for next week.
I’ll start the tomatoes and peppers on the 15th.
Garden Goals
- Grow 365 pounds of food in my teeny tiny backyard.
- Install a side yard {flower} garden
- Make a Potting Bench
- Make a Garden Cart to sell flowers/veggies out front
Kitchen Things
While I didn’t try any new recipes this past week I did go through all my kitchen things and brought a few boxes of pans, plates and other dishware that we just don’t use anymore to our little local thrift store.
The goal is to fill the cupboard with canned goodness this summer {I’m still not sure where I’m going to put our plates and mixing bowls} but that will have to wait until we can get some local fruits and vegetables.
- Try 12 new recipes {3 down, 9 to go}
- Fill the canning cupboard
New Recipes I’ve Shared This Year
- Double Chocolate Rye Cookies
- Velveeta Zesty Chili Dip
- Haddock and Corn Chowder
- The Best Way To Freeze Avocados
- Freezing Refried Beans
Travel Things
No new reservations anywhere but I did get the Costco Visa card.
My friend Jen LOVES her Costco Visa card {and all the kickbacks that go with it} and is always telling me of some deal she scored {along with extra Costco gift cards to boot!}.
So I cancelled our Alaska Airlines card and am looking forward to using the Costco card for gas, travel and Costco purchases. As long as you pay off your credit card off every month {which we do} you can really rack up a bunch of freebies.
I have gotten countless free airline tickets, hotel stays and even furniture over the years thanks to credit card points.
- Explore more of the great state of Maine
- Go on a painting holiday
- Québec City {Accommodations and 1 tour booked!}
- Travel Overseas {All accommodations are booked!}
- Send the HH on a vacation
Marriage Things
We went on a couple of nice walks this past week AND a bike ride.
It won’t be long now before all the flowers are popping up and everything is green and lush and so much more fun to ride past. Pretty soon it will be warm enough to start riding my bike to the post office again to mail packages. I LOVE doing that!
- Keep my husband busy
- Date days
- Walk more
Secret Projects
Nothing new to report on the secret projects… But hey, I think I’m doing really good on all the other stuff.
How about YOU!? How are YOUR goals coming along?

I love the Costco Citi card! I don’t know about the other perks you mentioned but you get cash back at the end of the year, which is so much better than being tied to airline points, etc. you can do whatever you want with it!

I agree with Barb. I’ve had the Costco Citi card for years. No annual fee means more money in my pocket. I also prefer the cash back so I have freedom to purchase what I want with it. I usually wind up renting cars thru Costco, I rarely find a better price.

Costco Citi card for the win! And I love your bike/trike!
