Online Things
After taking a week off from rug hooking, I’m back at it again!
Yesterday it rained ALL DAY so I decided to stay inside and get started on my third giant whale rug of the year. Whales, I just can’t get enough of them lately.
Etsy was super slow this week so I was able to spend a bunch of my extra time outside {which was a nice change} and finish cleaning up my craft area in the barn. ‘
I did a really good job of spending less than 3 hours a day online each day but one.
Last night I went down a rabbit hole and 2 ½ hours I realized it was 10:30 {way past my bedtime} and then I couldn’t fall asleep. It makes me crazy when that happens. I honestly can’t even remember what was keeping me glued to my computer last night.

House Things
We were going to paint the front door and the barn door this past week but decided to do a little gardening instead.
We’re supposed to have 3-4 days of decent weather next week so hopefully we’ll get the doors painted then.
After that, I’d like to get started on painting some interior walls {white}. I think I’ll start with the downstairs and work my way up.
I have no idea how long it will take me and I’m not sure if I want to have it be the only thing on my to-do list and just get it over with, or paint the walls bit by bit on bad weather days.
- Paint The Inside Of The House {including closets!}
- Paint The Interior Window Trim
- Remodel Bathroom #1
- Freshen up Bathroom #2 {Just need to install the facet and hang something on the wall}
- Put Stuff On The Walls
- Work on “new” Kitchen Game Plan
Garden Things
The tulips {some of them anyway} are up and look spectacular.
The HH wanted to know why we didn’t plant them on the other side of the fence and I told him it was because that’s where I planted the peasant eye daffodils. 🙂
It’s kind of strange to have tulips in full bloom before all the daffodils but hey, they’re beautiful! They’re so nice to look at that I don’t even want to pick any to bring inside.
After planting the little limelight hydrangeas we popped by Home Depot to pick up some grass seed and they had a bunch of new plants in stock so we walked over to check them out.
There were some really good deals too, but we didn’t need anything {such a weird feeling} so we went home empty handed. Also this past week I planted tomato, pepper and a bunch of herb seeds and have those under grow lights.
My sugar snap peas I started from seed at the beginning of the month have spent 3 nights hardening off outside so far.
Now I just need to figure out where I’m going to plant them!

Travel Things
My Friend Jen is headed back to England this week with her husband and she said she is going to take a picture in front of the house we stayed in and send it to me. How funny is that!?
I told Jen we should go to Holland next spring for the tulips… She thought that was a splendid idea. A tea and tulip tour. Sounds like a solid plan if you ask me.
Also, I started my paint by numbers of The Sea at Les Saintes. I think I’ll hang it on the wall downstairs when I’m finished.
Dreaming of far away places is one of my favorite things… Seeing them in person is even better.
I told the HH with all the free time I’m going to have once we get the garden planted and house projects done that maybe I should become a tour guide.
He rolled his eyes and then pointed out that a job like that would require me to TALK to people. HA HA HA. So true.
- Explore more of the great state of Maine
- Go on a painting holiday {currently working on WHERE to go}
- Québec City {Accommodations and 1 tour booked!}
- Travel Overseas {All accommodations and 2 events are booked!}
- Send the HH on a vacation {working on it!}
Marriage Things
We nailed all three things this week: We did a lot of walking, went to Becky’s for breakfast, and we kept busy in the yard. Hot diggety!
- Keep my husband busy
- Date days
- Walk more
Secret Projects
The last thing I need to get started on secret project #1 arrives Monday. Then it’s time to get busy.
I’ve already started to carve out some time on the calendar each week to work on the project and I think that will be the key, blocking off time to hunker down and just work at it.
As far as working on project #2, that’s more of a gradual thing and will be ready to reveal towards the end of the year.
Having a checklist and projects in the works are my thing. They keep me out of the clubs and from spending all my money on sequin tube tops and glitter. Yeah. Something like that.
How about YOU? What have you been working on lately? Anything fun? Do tell.

I need to paint our front door, which is metal and has peeling paint. How do you paint the front door, especially when you need to close it each night while the painting is in progress? Would love a post about this!

Oh! I bought rye flour and made those double chocolate rye cookies. Woooo super chocolatey. Like if you’re a dark chocolate person, they are for you. NOT for me. I took them to my GriefShare group and they ate them up with 2 ladies wanting the recipe. 🙂
Now what else shall I make with rye flour …. ? Probs regular ol’ chocolate chip cookies.
