1. Get Organized.
Someday soon… my garage AND house will be clean.
2. Run, walk or crawl a Marathon, half marathon, 10k, and 5k race this year.
I think I might hold my own 5k and see if Mrs. Hillbilly and Hulda want to “race” it with me. 😉
3. Remodel our Master Bathroom, Master Closet and Monkey Boy’s Bathroom.
We are getting there!
4. Finish Every Room in Our House.
Once the bathrooms are remodeled… all that will be left to do if find some furniture for the family room {hopefully at a garage sale this summer} and a nice chair and ottoman for the front room. I have a strict budget, and I’m hoping to come in well under it.
5. Turn Spare Bedroom into a Cozy Home Office Space for myself.
Once Monkey Boy’s bathroom is done… I’ll get started.
6. Create a Vegetable Garden.
Guess who just planted a packet of beets in her front flower bed? I figure the red tops will confuse the HOA as they drive by.
7. Build a Path into the Hillside for Easy Access to the Upper Garden.
8. Limit my personal spending to $100 a month.
Another week passed without buying anything from my $100 a monthly spending budget. I was tempted to buy this {maybe twice} used pair of Keens at the thrift store but the $23.99 price tag made me put them back.
So far in March I have spent $42.44.
- In February I Spent $32.52
- In January I Spent $84.33
9. Purge… Weekly. Find 10 things each week to donate to the thrift store.
17 Books were set aside for the thrift store this week. My goal by the end of the year is to have all the “extra” stuff we don’t need donated or sold so our next move will be easy peasy. {Eye on the prize baby!}
10. Read 1 book a week. – My goal is to read 52 books this year
I picked a few books at the library this week. My Amish Childhood, The Forgotten Seamstress and Simply Primitive. Have you read any other those?
11. Slow Down.
Nope. It didn’t happen this week. 🙂 There is just too much going on.
12. Canning – Life was sort of crazy last year and I feel like I sorta fell off the canning wagon and I’d like to hop back on it this year. Ideally, I’d like to open my pantry at the end of the year and have rows and rows of home canned goodness staring back at me.
Did you set any goals for this year? If so, how are they coming along?

You should try virtual races! My sisters and I (who all currently live in different states) are doing a virtual 5k a month this year. There are many websites helping to raise funds for many charities this way. You can find every distance race you can think of. My sisters are visiting me at the beginning of April and so we’ll do our April 5k together! I joined a group called MoonJoggers this year. You log miles all year long toward a common goal. They offer virtual races, but you log all your miles whether racing or not. You can also log biking and swimming miles. I have also signed up for runs (although we are all walkers at this point) through US Road Racing, Races for Awareness (the race I’m doing through them comes with a Rosie the Riveter medal-I couldn’t resist!), and Virtual Run Events. It has provided motivation I’ve had trouble finding in the past! Nothing will motivate you quite like making yourself accountable to your sisters!

To piggyback off Pam, I saw this article and thought of you: http://www.outsideonline.com/fitness/bodywork/fitness-coach/What-Are-the-Best-Virtual-Races.html

my 2015 goal is to down size, declutter, use less space. Getting ready to downsize my home but my 17 3 mo. yr old son does not want to move. Th is the only home he has known. Just took a car load to the thrift store for donations.

I’m all for decluttering. But getting rid of a copy of “To Kill A Mockingbird”? Say it ain’t so, Mavis.

We have a hard copy as well.

My secret place for better quality second hand furniture is Hope Furnishings in Tacoma. They have a nice selection; I purchased a loveseat and two side tables for the lake cabin there. The organization uses the profits to provide basic furniture to people in need, such as foster kids who have aged out and are getting their first apartments. For an idea of what they have (but not everything they have), search Craigslist Seattle Furniture for Sale for “Hope Furnishings .”

I went there a few weeks ago and didn’t find anything I liked, but I will go back. I think the prices are great and I love the cause.

I have a few goals for 2015 but the primary ones are: get organised and; declutter. I think the two go hand in hand. It’s almost impossible to be organised when you’re surrounded by stuff. So far, I can’t say I’ve put a big dent in the clutter. The year is nearly a quarter over already though so I’d best get to it!
