I LOVE fresh blueberries and this old fashioned blueberry crisp recipe is one of my favorite ways to use them. I can’t seem to get enough of blueberries lately.
I don’t know what’s going on but I can’t stop eating blueberries!! Lucy loves them too. Every trip the HH makes to the grocery store, at least 2 pints of blueberries are on the list and there gone within 2 or 3 days.
Luckily here in Maine we are able to buy wild Maine blueberries towards the end of July so pretty soon I’ll be able to go crazy and stock up.
With the fourth of July right around the corner, I wanted to share my all time favorite go to recipe for old fashioned blueberry crisp. I’ve been making this recipe for about 15 years now and it never fails to please.
Real, homemade desserts rule. There is no doubt about it.
I hope you like it, we sure do.
Have a great weekend everyone. And if you’re going clubbing, don’t forget the glitter.

P.S. If you’s rather make a pie, I have a great blueberry pie recipe too. And a recipe for blueberry muffins that’s pretty awesome as well. And blueberry lime jam. Okay, I’ll stop now. 😉 Peace Out.

1/4 cup all- purpose flour
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, chopped into bits
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

2 cups old fashioned oats
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl combine blueberries, butter, flour, sugar, and cinnamon.
Pour into a 9×13 buttered baking dish.
Place the ingredients for the oatmeal topping in a bowl and using a fork, work the ingredients together for a minute or two until they are nice and crumbly.
Sprinkle over blueberry mixture, cover with foil and back for 30 minutes. Remove foil and cook for an additional 20 minutes or until the juices are bubbling.
Serve warm with ice cream.

My pink lemonade blueberries are coming in and I think I like them more than the regular ones! Eating those with granola and Bettergoods Greek yogurt.
I found flavored Bettergoods Greek yogurt in Strawberries and cream and it is delicious. I plan to try their Greek pineapple upside down cake and their Greek honey vanilla next.
My favorite canning one is spiced blueberry jam with a little cinnamon, allspice, and clove in the recipe. It’s fabulous.

I’ve made your Blueberry Pie a few years back. It was delicious. I use your recipe for pie crust all the time. Yum! I, too am waiting for those sweet blueberries to hit the markets. I cannot stop eating them either. I can go through 2 pints a week. I eat them with my yogurt and freeze some for winter. Love berries.

My 2 miniature Dackels love blueberries, too. If it was up to them, their breakfast would be a bowl full of them. We like blueberry muffins, and will give the crisp a try.

This looks delicious! Can’t wait until the pick-your-own farms have blueberries- soon! This would totally work as breakfast, right 🙂

Yes, especially with ice cream, so you have dairy!

I love blueberries too. I eat them in oatmeal or just by themselves. Mavis I also listen to audio books. I wondered if you could share your list again? I didn’t get it saved. Thanks for the recipes and taking up along on your trips ect. Have you been to the beach lately?
