If you find a good British TV series, let me know. We worked our way through Doc Martin (loved it), Foyle’s War (ditto) and Manhunter with Martin Clunes (too short!). Also Law and Order UK is good.

Cheers to a wonderful 2022! I’m super excited for your fresh veg dinner tonight. I only made it 1 month without.
I’m looking forward to another fun year of “a day in the life of Mavis” 🙂

have you watched All Animals Great and Small on PBS yet? They are rerunning the first season and new season is about to start. I am loving it.
Helen says
Inspector Morse (7 seasons) or the even better Endeavour (8 seasons) are well worth a watch, both series are set in Oxford.
Laura L. says
I’m with you on those two series! I’ve loved Inspector Morse since the beginning and watch episodes time and time again. When I first heard that Endeavour was in the planning stages, I didn’t think anything could compete with Morse but I wound up loving that one too. Great suggestions, Helen.

I agree about “All Creatures Great and Small” on PBS- still a period piece but the show is new… excellent! Also “Ghosts” the UK version is hilarious… we watched it when we had a free HBO subscription but that’s runout.. not sure how you could watch it but it is so funny. “Afterlife” is also good- heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time… it’s cranky and up-lifting.
Happy New Year!

OK…well, I just purchased three of those adorable heart necklaces for my daughter’s for Valentine’s Day.
Peaky Blinders (Netflix) is a British series set in 1920 Birmingham, England. It is about the street gangs of the time. My husband was watching it and I did not think I was interested. Fast forward to some binge-watching, I’m on season 4 now. Fair warning, there is violence and language but the storyline is suspenseful.
Joanna says
Happy New Year Mavis to you!! Gods Blessings for 2022!!!

Broadchurch! So good!

If you haven’t watched Endeavour, I highly recommend it. Amazing story and acting. I love British mystery/crime series, and this is one of this best. I also loved Granchester.
Kathy Wolfe says
Home Fries, Land Girls and Call the Midwife are 3 great British series if you haven’t already seen them.

Also try ABC’s “This is Us.” It’s not British, but it’s one of the best drama series on network TV.
Jean says
Clarkson’s Farm was so good! I hear there will be a second season.
Melissa says
Yep, All Creatures Great and Small. It’s amazing.
Kathleen says
Try Miranda on BBC. It is hilarious
Julie says
If you haven’t yet, Call the Midwife is a great one. Something I’m not embarrased to watch with my mom (due to not-for-youth scenes.) It’s paced just fast/slow enough to get some good crafting in at the same time.
Tamara says
Hey Mavis! Happy New Year! Your rugs are just beautiful and I just bought my first beginner kit from you!
We started watching Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father last night and it is hilarious. If you aren’t familiar with Jack Whitehall, he is a British comedian. His elderly father is a classic old school British dude, and their relationship is just, well, you have to see it. Plus it’s kind of a travel documentary, reality show, comedy, all rolled into one. Definitely recommend it! It’s on Netflix. 🙂
