Hello Saturday!
It’s a bit chilly here on Fair Isle this morning… but then again, it’s probably just as cold {if not colder} back in Maine.
The HH said he has been keeping busy shipping orders but hadn’t started on his list of projects yet. {Probably because he’s been occupied with watching movies and catching up on cat videos on youtube.}
Something tells me those sticky notes won’t start coming down until a day or two before I get home. 😉
On the agenda for today:
- Walk down to the lighthouse and check it out
- Buy some postcards at the shop
- Bake a cake
- Figure out something to work on while I wait for my box of supplies to arrive
- Stay warm
That’s it. That’s what’s going on here in Fair Isle today… How about YOU? What are your plans for today?
Have a good one,
~Mavis

Ahhh… procrastination is the spice of life. I know it well. The HH is in good company, lolol..
Loving your posts. Have fun!

You should have brought Lucy along! She is going to miss you terribly.

I’m sure you’ll find plenty of activities to occupy your time!
I’m not sure of what I’m doing today–other than a run this morning and my son’s “noise music” collaboration with a performance artist late tonight.
I have a giant list for the weekend that includes: lots of work stuff, a few house chores, work on a couple goals, and some fun things I keep not getting time to do….

More sheep pictures, please. That is what I miss the most about living in Scotland, the sheep everyplace. (It helped that we lived on a sheep farm…) Hope your supplies arrive soon.

I’m so jealous! It all looks divine!

The picture of the sheep is so beautiful! Maybe you could sketch the outside of the cottage you are staying in, the hillside and the sheep for a rug design while you are waiting for your supplies to arrive?
Vicki in Birmingham says
It looks lovely there. I have traveled alone for decades, so I certainly understand that part. I am curious though, with all the places in the world available to you, what was the deciding factor or the particular draw that caused you to decide on going to Fair Isle?
Just curious! Enjoy your trip!

Love the sheep close-up. It’s cold and damp here on the Cape and I’m hooking away on a project that will now be for next Christmas. Later I’ll pick up the socks I’m working on for my little one. Laundry, etc. Hope your supplies arrive before it’s time to leave!

The sheep picture is lovely! What kind of cake did you bake?
We are camping in Morro Bay for the weekend. It’s only about 20 minutes from our house, but it’s fun to be near the bay and enjoy the sea air and the beautiful weather.

Wow Mavis you are very very very adventurous! How did you find their grocery store or stores?
Judy says
Yes, please tell us what you bought for groceries and how much they cost.
Have fun!

Why does the idea of you baking a cake in that amazing place make me so happy? I can just imagine you enjoying a slice or two with a delicious cuppa.
Thank you so much for taking us all along on this adventure.
