Tomorrow my granddaughter is moving to her brother’s house to live with him and his wife. (she was with us for almost 2 years) So, today we will finish getting her packed up. And, of course, there is always laundry! Tonight, we will go out to dinner so no need to figure out what to make. Nothing else planned for today!

I’m so glad you got your big box of supplies. What bliss.
BTW, how is Lucy doing without you? Has the HH said? I’ll bet you miss her…

Today one of my former students is coming by to pick up a bunch of garden stuff, so we’ll be getting everything ready for her. She got interested in gardening right when we decided we were maxed out on space and the time it takes to maintain, so we’re giving her a veritable starter set of garden goodies: grow lights, seeds, raised bed kits, trellises, etc. Everything is SO expensive these days, so I’m thrilled we can pass things along and get them set up.
If the stars align, I might also get the crockpot going so that we can have real food for dinner, but we’ll see.

My toddler is obsessed with roaring like a lion and “scaring” us, and now our 10 month old is imitating him. So I imagine I’ll spend most of the day pretending to be terrified and hopefully fold some laundry in between that… because our laundry situation is truly scary these days.
Hope that you have a lovely day hooking. I’m really enjoying following along on your adventures!

Have neighbors over for dinner: boiling up some shrimp in crab boil for an appetizer with cocktail sauce; standing over my cast-iron frying pan for an hour plus to make the dark roux necessary for a pot of chicken and andouille gumbo; cutting up the trinity, garlic, and then parsley and green onions to flavor said gumbo; assessing how much Tony Chachere’s I have in the green can to spice up the gumbo; baking some French bread to go with the salad and gumbo; playing my favorite Cajun music and dancing in my living room, like I used to dance at Tipitina’s in New Orleans to Bruce Daigrepont’s fais-do-do on Sunday afternoons.

Nice long run this AM.
Met my mom for coffee and a treat at a funky new (to us) cafe.
As usual, I am working on lesson plans for the next week.
Take out dinner and a (in-home) movie with DH–for 2nd night in a row! Wow, so fancy of us!
Hoping to get my “Items I Found on my Run” Instagram started, finally.

Hooking and more hooking, then switching to knitting after grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Great way to spend a chilly day on Cape Cod. I didn’t realize the weather could be so beautiful on Fair Isle this time of year. Looks like here.

Sitting in PJs working on projects with your would be great. Instead it was a Costco, Kohl’s, Michael’s, Petco and Home Depot run day. Had discounts that were going to expire almost everywhere and another snow storm is coming.

That top picture with the sheep and blue cottage is gorgeous. Enjoy your rug hooking time in such a beautiful, peaceful setting!
