Since it’s not raining yet here in our corner of the PNW we’re going to be planting our hazelnut trees. We’re putting in a 30 acre orchard and have about 5% done so far.

On our agenda for today and the rest of the week when it’s not raining…is to work on the huge oak tree that came down in the last wind and rain storm. Good and bad parts….it landed straight down the middle of our garden. It didn’t do as much damage as we thought in the garden, but it took down our garden shed with most of the tools in it. We will get them back out after much work. Now the good thing is…I have lots more light, yeah! And of course, lots more firewood. But, we our bodies are sore already from working all day yesterday. Rain is expected on Monday and Tuesday. And we are sleeping well at night or shall I say crashing into bed.

Thank you for the gift ideas. Just ordered some container friendly seeds from Botanical Interests. Hadn’t even thought about it before. (And might even go back and order some for myself!). Now onto Stonewall Kitchen!

Yesterday I finalized my supply grocery shopping for what I hope is the rest of the year. I was able to get most pet food at Walmart, I have six cats, one with a special diet. I’m hoping this eliminates pop up, rushed, extra shopping trips. I went to Costco and stocked up cat liter, and a large bag of cat crunchies. As well as bottled drinks. It seems like I bought a lot of heavy lifting items. I cant believe when I was younger I thought shopping was ‘fun’…..it’s such a chore now.
