Hello Saturday!
Boy is it chilly outside this morning. A high of 40 degrees is predicted for today. If only we had some snow to go along with the cold. 🙁 I don’t know about you, but I am ready for it.
On the agenda for today:
- Make a batch of cookies
- Try a new recipe
- Tidy up the house
- Make a list of all the sides I want to make for Thanksgiving
- Snuggle with the puggle
How about YOU? What are YOUR plans for today? It’s going to be a quiet one around here. 🙂
Have a good one.

Right now it is 46 degrees and I live in northern Florida! I will be going to a Chili Cook-off picnic at church later today – I sure hope it warms up. I only have a few things on my list today:
1) laundry
2) pack up Etsy orders to mail out
3) eat a lot at the picnic so that I don’t have to make dinner . . . ha ha ha

Today is my mom’s side of the family’s Thanksgiving. I’ve been up since early-thirty cooking. I’m bringing Sweet Potato Casserole, Corn Casserole, and Pineapple-Cheese Casserole. Can you tell I live in the South? In our family the turkey is not the star of the show. It’s the casseroles!

I couldn’t google pineapple cheese casserole fast enough! Think I’ve got most of the ingredients and I’m going to try it. Thank you, Wendy!
p.s. we live on the Tug in NYS–thought we were ready for snow till the last few days. Kinda over that now. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I think you will love it! It is so good as a side to baked ham.

Turning 20 lbs of apples into apple pie filling and then canning it. Then I’ll plant some lettuce and micro greens for an indoor garden green. Should be a great day!

Good luck to you all who got so much snow!! Hope you are home and warm.

I’ve been in the kitchen all day pickling the last of the homegrown beets, roasting the last homegrown carrots for carrot-ginger soup, making 2 loaves of sourdough bread, plus homemade pizza for lunch and washing lots of dishes.
Next up is a cup of tea and an episode of The Crown. 🙂

Here in the PNW I am trying to be prepared for the snow that we hope is coming this year. We went through the snow pants and boots, gloves and hats and coats to see what fits. I plan to hit the sales this week to get whatever the kids (or myself) have outgrown.
And while the sun is still out it’s time to trim the arborvitae. Otherwise, stay inside and keep the woodstove going!

Here in Michigan we’re getting up to another 12 inches of snow on top of the 10 we got on Friday so, needless to say, I did not leave the house today.

I mean, I like snow, but wowza! Stay safe and warm!
