Hello Saturday!
A high of 67 is forecasted for today… Can you believe it? Here it is November and all I want is snow. This is Maine though, so I guess I should enjoy the warm temps while they last, right? 😉
On the agenda for today:
- Pack up orders and ship them on out.
- Cut out quilt squares!
- Make a batch of 8 can chicken taco soup.
- Cut out quilt squares!
- Get caught up on rug hooking.
- Cut out quilt squares!
How about YOU? What are YOUR plans for today? Whatever they are, I’m sure it’s going to be more exciting than cutting out quilt squares.
Have a good one,
~Mavis

Idk if anyone else is a college football fan, but we are diehard UGA fans and we are undefeated. So is the U of TN and along with being next door state rivals, we are also conference rivals. We are both ranked #1, us in the AP poll and them in the one for the College Football Playoffs. Needless to say, this is a huge game. I have plenty of tailgate abnd game time fare to cook so that’s the plan before the game at 3:30. GO DAWGS!!!!

Ha! Don’t know how that extra B got in there. Must have been so excited about the game!!!! I’m actually not the biggest football fan around but some of the big college games can be pretty exciting. I went to Auburn, UT, and LSU and it was amazing to see how the campuses really came alive on football Saturdays. And all the tailgating – oh my!

Well, where I’m at in NE Ohio, it’s 73 degrees and they say the high will be 75. The sun was out this morning but with the wind that blew in clouds, not so much now.
On the agenda in freezer meals: something with beef strips and yellow rice, some Hungarian Kolbasz and sauerkraut, maybe taco soup. The Kolbasz and sauerkraut is actually for tonight’s dinner. I need a bigger freezer because I like to make a HUGE pot of taco soup and freeze it in 4 cup containers (when solid, it gets transferred to a freezer bag to save room.) Cooking, for me, is highly relaxing. Maybe I’ll make brownies or angel wings.

The University of Washington Huskies played last night…anyway it was a wild and windy night. Next thing, the UW put out a tweet saying “does anyone know an electrician”. Power went out. Looks like we’re in for a traditional November in the Pacific Northwest, windstorm galore. Have a great weekend!

Spent 3 hours this morning helping clean and organize at church. Lunch at a local spot with hubby on our way home. Organized and prepared several boxes of homeschool curriculum to take to consignment store next week. Cleaned out van with daughter. Made big spaghetti dinner for a houseful; all 3 kids have friends here. Now I’m going to make them some preacher cookies then go SIT and relax. 😉

Okay, please explain “preacher cookies,” because I am fascinated! Thank you.
