Hello and Happy Saturday from Maine!
I was able to snap these photos of a family of four deer passing through our backyard yesterday before the big storm wiped out all the snow. Deer on Christmas morning, what a wonderful surprise!
On the to-do list for today:
- Smile. Because the HH got all the tile laid in the entryway. 🙂
- Paint the baseboard trim in the family room.
- Bundle up wool the wool I dyed this morning.
- Pack up orders and ship them out.
- Make a giant plate of asparagus for dinner {and maybe some salmon too?}
- Take a nice long walk
How about you? What’s on your list for today? Is your house currently a disaster zone or clean as a whistle. Do tell. 😉
Have a great Saturday everyone,
♥ Mavis & Lucy

Merry Christmas Mavis. Those photographs are wonderful. What a fabulous view you have and so lucky to have snow on Christmas day! We’ve currently got a storm going through Scotland. Rain and wind – joy! Have a great year. x

For the first time in my life, we had a White Christmas and still have 4″ on the ground. My house is still in chaos and it may stay that way throughout the weekend. Hoping the temps get out of the teens today and give our heaters a rest! We haven’t had any deer in the yard this year much, so I’m jealous

Great pictures! My house is full of Christmas mess. We took a long walk today in the crisp air…it was wonderful!

Oh, I am so jealous of your view. I live in central Washington and my view is of brown, sagebrush-covered hills. We got snow yesterday, though, so had a white Christmas. We cheated and had a small family gathering as our grandson and his wife came from Duluth, Minnesota. They moved in the spring, and it has been hard having them so far away. You are in my thoughts and prayers for your upcoming surgery. May 2021 be better for everyone.

I love looking at your little island in the bay. I would sit there for hours looking at that view. My garage was in a little disaster zone yesterday. The small pressure tank on top of the water heater decided to spring a leak and spray water all over. Wasn’t sure how to turn the water off but found the valve after 10 minutes. Spent about 3 hour cleaning up water off floor and making sure nothing was damaged where the water sprayed on boxes. This morning called plumber, he was out with in 20 minutes, had the job finished within 15 minutes, didn’t bother turning the engine off in his truck he was that quick. Today I put everything back in order in garage. We haven’t lived in this house long, but it is a good idea to know where all the shut offs are for water , gas etc.

So glad to hear your water emergency turned out so well!! That plumber was your angel.

Happy is was a quick fix! Our old house had a lot of places without shut off valves, so last year we had our old water lines redone and made sure there were shut off ‘s in plenty of convenient areas!! ( especially toilets, and sinks!)

We always have Christmas with our kids and grandkids on Christmas Eve and then as soon as they leave, we take down the tree, pack everything up, and clean. Christmas Day is spent leisurely. I finished reading a book from the library The Noel Letters and then started crocheting an afghan for my oldest granddaughter. Today was 60 so we took down the outside lights and went for a walk with my husband and the dog.
