“Morning is an important time of day, because how you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have.”
~ Lemony Snicket

I took this week off from work also. What a great idea that was! I also made jam. Thanks for your recipes. I made the Cran-Apple with orange and gave it to my husband as gifts for the people he works with. I also made the Blueberry Lemon. Both from your recipes. YUM! I tried a Cranberry-Blueberry jam also. I’m cleaning out my freezer and had a lot of blueberries. I also have a lot of frozen peaches so I have more research to do so I can use them up.

Mavis, I would love to see a post on the nuts and bolts of how you set goals (sorry if you’ve already done this and I missed it). I set goals every year, but every year I struggle with sticking to my list. I wonder if I’m including too many things I feel like I should be doing rather than things I want to do. I realize that publicly stating your goals goes a long way to holding you accountable, but you do seem super successful in actually meeting those goals, so I’m curious about your process — how do you balance what makes your final list? Thanks for any input! (really enjoy your blog, as always)

I’ve been following several years and always get shocked when I see you posted week 50/52 and start talking of setting goals for the next year! It goes so fast. I’m also impressed at how well you stick to your goals—well done!
Kaia says
And I always look forward to seeing your goals for the next year!!

Remember, you no longer live in Suburbia: “I am your typical housewife living in high maintenance suburbia. I have a handsome husband, 2 kids and a flock of pet chickens.”
Happy New Year!

With as many goals as you have each year, I am curious as to what factors cause you to pick the ones you do pick. I seem to have trouble making my goal list; sometimes I do short term goals and long term goals, but your list is so efficient and you always seem to manage your time to get everything in.
Even after reading your blog after all these years, I am still impressed!
Wishing you and yours a happy, healthy and prosperous new year!

First. Time. Ever. Setting goals with weekly accountability. Thinking of a few more. Time’s a tickin’. So excited!

Hi Mavis, well the 2018 goal list didn’t happen because my husband was so ill that he almost died. So looking forward to seeing your 2019 list as well as reading what your followers are planning for themselves. I also think an “Ask Mavis” column would be a great idea.
Happy New Year 🙂

I hope he is doing better!
Mrs. Mills says
Thank you Mavis, he is better. While not yet completely healthy at least he is still with me. This has been such a difficult year, so much stress. So working on my 2019 list, looking forward to seeing yours as well as reading everyone else’s list. Take care and thank you for your helpful and motivational Blog.
