Hello Friday!
Last night I went to bed just before 8 and didn’t wake up again until just after 6 this morning. A solid 10 hours of rest…. that hardly ever happens. And boy did it feel good. I guess I didn’t realize how tired I was.
This time of year always leaves me feeling a little tired and confused and it’s hard to know what day it is or what I’m supposed to be doing because some things are open and some aren’t and if they are, the hours are all wonky.
There’s always so much to do and yet there’s this feeling like you should be doing nothing as well.
On the agenda for today:
- Pack up orders and ship them out
- Go outside for a walk
- Make rug hooking kits
- Make chicken curry and rice for linner
- Work on my last goal post for the year {which I’ll share tomorrow} and then start typing up my new goals for 2023 {which I’ll share on Sunday}.
- Maybe sleep another 10 hours? 😉
How about YOU? What’s on YOUR list for weekend? Anyone doing anything special for New Year’s Eve?
Have a good one, stay dry and stay warm.
~Mavis
P.S. Who knew 55 goldfish crackers was 1 serving? Is it just me, or doesn’t that seem like a lot?

My kids all hate Goldfish, but I get a craving for them every now and then. I never really bought them or had them in the house, but I guess at daycare, schools, and other activities it was always the snack of choice for my kids.
I had a friend who I joked her kids were part of the Goldfish Generation because her minivan had leftover bags of them all over and rogue fish that were dropped on the floor or smashed into the seats. When their snow boots dripped on them, those little crackers would swell and become bigger fish. Yuck!
Nowadays at the grocery store there is an overwhelming selection of Goldfish crackers in all sorts of flavors and sizes, just like every other original product. Nothing is plain and basic anymore as companies think they need to cater and expand to all palates.

55 goldfish = 140 calories?

I went to bed at 9:30 last night and woke up this morning at 8:45 – 11 hours of sleep! That does not happen very often, but I sure do love it when it does. I am not a morning person, and I am not a night person – more of an “afternoon” person . . . 🙂
If only we could store the extra sleep for those days when we don’t get enough.

That label was totally scary. Yikes!

I, for one, really appreciate that labeling. It is something many of us would like to see on all packages. Many people are unaware that they are eating stuff that may not be healthy for their body.

Thank you for writing what I’ve been feeling all week … tired and confused. What a strange week it has been between holidays. Here’s to long winter slumbers!

It could be Friday, it could be Wednesday, it could be January already. I just don’t know. Family Christmas is this weekend because winter storm Elliot canceled plans last week.
Since it’s the first time in forever I have a 4 day weekend so, after Saturday (and several naps), I plan on being as useless as the “g” in lasagna until work Tuesday morning.
Happy New Year!

Made with smiles and bioengineered food ingredients. LOL! They had to say smiles to ease into the next required line on the packaging.
Happy New Year to you, Lucy and HH!

We are having a few days of warmer, dry weather so a few outside chores are being taken care of before the rains come again. Inside chores can be done on rainy days to come. So the Christmas tree is still up.

I buy Gold Fish every once in a while but I don’t eat them and my older kid doesn’t seem to be too into them. Now, Teddy Grahams are another story.
We’re* pretty pumped around here to have a Noon Year’s Eve party tomorrow. Five other families with two kids apiece (plus our two), all 8 and under. So we’re going to have a packed house of 24 in our normal sized home. Everyone is coming over at 9 a.m. for a MYO waffle bar and will be kicked out of our house for nap/quiet time around Noon. Then we will change into pajamas and stay that way for a solid 24 hours.
* My husband is freaking out about the crowd but I am so excited and thankful to have that many families to celebrate with in my life.
Happy New Years! Can’t wait to read your list for next year. I finished mine last night and I’m so excited to accomplish some things that I’ve wanted to do for a while (finish painting our home) and a few fun things (host at least 4 slumber parties for my niece and nephew).

Oh my goodness, I LOVE Teddy Grahams. My kids couldn’t care less…I buy them for just me! 🙂

Hubby and I are still recovering from Covid so we are doing a lot of nothing lately. I am slowly taking down Christmas decorations, but that’s about it. I love the ingredient label on the goldfish. First ingredient is SMILES. Gotta love something full of smiles and cheese, right?

We plan on watching fireworks in our front yard. We live in a urban/suburban neighborhood and setting off fireworks is very popular here…..maybe if I feel spendy we’ll get Chinese food. However, lately, spending money is so easy to do that I am avoiding it.

New Year’s Eve is amateur drinkers night so we stay home. Not that we drink anymore but we don’t want to be on the road with people who think they are fine to drive. We’ll be having pickety bits all evening.

Our sons loved going to the outlet mall with us because we would always stop in the Pepperidge Farm shop. Youngest son was a huge fan of Goldfish, and we would get the black/red/green lined gallon containers for him. After reading these ingredients, I’m happy to note that this was in the late 80s. Wouldn’t buy them now, no matter how many smiles they’re made with.
