Last night I purchased a “digital file” Christmas stollen recipe as well as the nutcracker cake recipe from Etsy seller OrchardofDreams. The cost for the 2 recipes was $10.10 USD. The photos and the layout for the recipes is absoultly lovely. And it made me feel good to be putting money into the hands of someone who could use some kindness right now.
With the purchase of a digital file, a seller can still help provide for their family by earning money for their craft/art, while not having to produce something new or ship anything.
$10.10 USD to the Ukrainian hryvnia {their currancy} is roughly 296 Ukrainian hryvnia.
296 Ukrainian hryvnia will buy the following items:
- 1 gallon of milk
- 1 loaf of bread
- 1 dozen eggs
- 1 pound of cheese
- 1 pound of chicken
Below are a few more “digital files” I found on Etsy:
VividStitchShop – Embroidery projects
MeriteWatercolour – Tulip printable watercolor sketch
DigitalNastasiaArt – Watercolor Easter eggs clipart

Thanks for the links to the Etsy shops in the Ukraine! My friend bought some Christmas presents from another Ukraine artist last year. He has also made some new digital downloads for some symbols of the war staring at only $7.00. If you want to check him out too his Etsy shop is named FisartDesign.

Mavis you should have gotten the lviv cheesecake recipe from the esty seller! It’s so good! Had some when I traveled to Ukraine last year. Not like our typical cheesecake. I asked what was in it and was surprised to hear they use cottage cheese not cream cheese!

Well, today’s list is not going to be what I thought it would be. We lost power at about 5:40am. We do have a generator and it does power the whole house . . . except for water. We are on a shared well (that is not located on our property) and there is no generator hooked up for the well. We do have plenty of water stored up for doing necessary things . . . except laundry . . . oh darn . . .
But, I can do some other things!
1) finish crocheting swiffer pads and tops for the hanging dish towels for Etsy shop
2) take photos and create listings for Etsy
3) make tacos for dinner
4) wait for the power to come back on . . .
Rosemary Calhoun says
Power came back on . . . guess I am doing laundry after all . . . darn . . .

It is 10 AM in windy, snowy NE Ohio and my list for the day is DONE!
Hungarian chicken paprikas and Hungarian country bread for dinner and freezer meals (don’t know how to cook for less than 10 and there’s only 2 of us here.
All laundry washed, dried, put away.
Home cleaned, including kitchen and all floors.
It’s great to accomplish the daily list to completion before it gets dark outside.
Now, just being a sloth the rest of the day.
Mavis, be safe for the storm that blew through here has gotten worse and is headed your way!

Waltons season 6 is a good one! Mary Ellen has her baby. I watch the Waltons just about every afternoon along with a cup of tea.

The weekend is here. With it are regular chores plus it’s Saturday which means dump run. The usual stop at Walmart we purchased a new television to be hung on the wall. 🙂
I managed to gather two trash bags full of books and two end tables to donate and dropped them off while out. One thing has changed for my weekends. Since Oct I’ve been baking 2-4 loaves of sourdough bread every other weekend. I decided I must stop because the scale is going up and up. It kind of saddened me to have to throw it out. But, it can be re-made another time. Happy sap collecting!!
Mel says
Is it the starter you threw out? You can actually freeze sourdough starter. Or just keep it in the fridge and feed it without using it.

Stayed in bed until after 10:00! (mostly because I slept fitfully and kept waking up, so let myself be lazy–but was nice!)
4.5 mile run
Now working on list of things to do, while alternating with 15 minutes of TV, chapters of books, and web surfing…hoping to get done:
–make a couple masks (cut out and prepped for months–I’m still wearing them to school, so may as well finish up these I already started.
–laundry/bedding
–grade a stack of stories
–start on report cards
–plan for next week
–clean out car
–prep breakfasts and lunches

Saw a cute meme that reminded me of you, Mavis. It was a maple tree with a bucket underneath, full of sap. The tree says “That feels good! I’ve been holding onto it all year!” Haha
Mavis Butterfield says
That’s a good one. 🙂

Well done love , always knew you had a real heart .
I’m repotting house plants as it’s definitely spring here in south Devon England, all the primroses , violets and daffodils are out .
My plan is to give away the repotted plants to charity’s to sell .
