Hello Saturday!
It looks like it’s going to be a bit of a gloomy day today with clouds and light rain… But that’s okay because there’s still plenty to do inside. {Oh I hope I can get all my indoor projects done before it starts to warm up!}.
On the agenda for today:
- Pancakes for breakfast!
- Talk Lucy for a nice long walk
- Pop a small gift in the mail
- Tidy up the craft room
- Start sugar snap peas
- Start a new audiobook
That’s it. Nothing too exciting. How about YOU? What’s on your list for today?

And a big THANK YOU to everyone who entered the Maine Maple Syrup Giveaway! The winners are:
- Cindy R. “I would love to receive the Grade A Amber. I would use the syrup on the homemade waffles I make for my family!”
- Marie B. “I’d like to try the dark. Pancakes with slices of bacon on top, then pour the maple syrup and be able to lick it off the bacon. Heaven!”
- Eileen S. “I love me some Amber. I make candy with it.. delicious fudge. So good, it melts in your mouth and the kids clammor for a second piece directly after eating it. They are grandkids, so spoiling might or might not happen but Maple goodness certainly makes it worth it!”

It’s rainy and cold here so I just roasted some cauliflower and broccoli and am going to make a pot of soup with it. The recipe I’m following also suggests Brown Buttermilk Skillet Cornbread so I might need to try that. I’m also trying to get over a wicked cold so I think my daughter and I are going to watch several episodes of Truth Be Told on AppleTV.

Daughters wedding prep, cleaning out my teenage son’s room, (thank goodness my daughter is home this weekend to help). I’ve already taken 4 garbage bags to the thrift store drop off and I bet I’ll have they many more by end of day. This huge project has been a long-time coming. . Tomorrow is church, hopefully a little rest, and I have to have my students progress reports done by Sunday night. Lovely weather here in Alabama today and it’s hard to not just go sit in my swing and admire all the new buds and leaves on the trees.

This weekend:
*run/walk as many miles as I am willing to give time to
*finish a “pleasure” book (not great, but I’ve waited 3 years for it, and I usually don’t give up on books) that i’m 1/5 the way through
*read 3 chapters in a PD book
*grade 2 stacks of papers
*plan math lessons for the week
*clean the kitchen
Doesn’t sound like much fun, but I’ve put off several of these chores so will feel good to get done!

Congrats to the winners!
I love maple syrup, didn’t enter for the free give away because so many did.
Looking really good here in central Alabama, my throbbing hip is keeping me from working outside. It’s a bummer but I’v learned how to do so many things from a chair.

I accomplished everything on my agenda (it’s now 8PM.)
My list was: clean kitchen, give toilet paper oldest because he forgets to get TP when he shops (HAHA) and worked on the queen size afghan I’m crocheting. Nothing fancy, just one big square because I am granny square illiterate and it’s in my favorite colors of a dark teal and antique pumpkin (like a burnt orange.)
Congrats to the maple syrup winners and happy weekend to all.

Well my HH steamed cleaned our carpets. Then I tried a new recipe with four different mushrooms, two different meats and two different greens. Topped with parmesan/reggiano. So good.
