This morning I’m going to “ding-dong-ditch” some Easter packages on my grand babies doorsteps! I tried mailing them earlier this week, but they were returned due to me using stamps! Apparently for security reasons you can’t send packages with stamps-who knew?!!!
sandyf says
As a retired Postmaster-Let me share some light about sending packages with stamps only. Because of the anthrax scare and all the security issues with mail ( bombs, dangerous items etc) USPS cannot verify the sender with stamps only. Use http://www.usps.com. Register for an account, use click n chip on Line postage, order free priority boxes and bags delivered to your home, and just leave your packages out for your carrier to pick up. Its so easy, no scale needed if you use flat rate and you get free delivery confirmation, $50 insurance and pick up. What could be easier?
If you don’t wish to use flat rate, you could use any on line company, stamps.com is a great one ( they usually offer some great incentives for signing up-free scale, etc)
If you use on line postage-USPS can track the mailer and verify sender. It is all about safety! Keep using USPS-they need your packages more than ever right now.

Wow!!! Thanks! ☺️ We’re definitely using USPS these days! Each of the 6 kiddos at home is sending out a letter per day to send some cheer during the shut-in! Our poor carrier!!!!

I saw a big April snowstorm in Maine on the news this morning. Glad your power didn’t get knocked out.
I am baking custard tarts for Easter. Some plain, some berry, and a few coconut. We plan to drive over the mountain to ding dong ditch our grandkids tomorrow. I have Easter baskets with Croc shoes and rain stompers in the brightest spring colors to deliver. I will bake some sugar cookies as well.
Our church services are going to be at the outdoor drive-in theater! 🙂

Made & delivered 20 masks for the bakery my friends owns, dropped off 3 “girl” masks to my son’s house for his friends. (6 ft apart and masks on)
Took the dogs for a walk and a car ride, such excitement!
Took my husbands temp 3 times as he is always worried that he is coming down with COVID 19.
(He’s not)
Got up at 5 am to get a chance of getting the daily sale YOHO handmade felt pennants that are sooooo cool ( got “Brooklyn” where my late son lived) https://www.yohoco.ca
No Easter celebration tomorrow-shelter in place!

My kids were born 1 day apart, 5 years apart….and both birthdays fell on Easter weekend this year. It’s my daughter’s 16th — she’s handling it well despite not being able to celebrate with friends. So, we did one birthday yesterday, Easter baskets this morning, and my daughter’s birthday tonight. Whew! Instead of inviting friends and family, we just asked them to call or Facetime.
Aside from that, I started a composting worm bin this week. I have to stop myself from checking several times a day to see if there’s awesome “Black Gold” yet. My husband definitely thinks I’m a weirdo for being so excited about worms.
