Perfectly pear jam, spiced pear jam, pear jam with green cardamom, pear and pineapple jam, carrot cake jam… This sounds like a scene from Forest Gump. 🙂

Mavis, My doctor prescribes a cream for itchy skin, Hydrocortisone with Valerate, it comes from different manufacturers and works great for itchy rashes.

Pear scones or muffins? You can freeze the dough or batter unbaked (but cut for scones or poured into muffin liners for muffins) and bake straight from the freezer.
I’m spending the day making ice cream and cookie dough for an upcoming ice cream party for work. I also need to stake our gigantic tomato seedlings that are still under grow lights and clean the house.

There are a couple of products I would like to recommend for your itchies. The first is called Rhus Tox. It is a homeopathic remedy sold by the pharmacies in our area. I haven’t used it personally so I don’t know if you use it proactively or after being exposed, but I have heard rave reviews about it. The second is called Tecnu and I have used it multiple times. You wash any exposed skin AFTER you have been out gardening. In theory is washes off the oil from the poison plants reducing, if not eliminating, any allergic response. I hope this helps you.

Mavis,
My husband introduced me to these all natural pills for poison ivy relief. It WORKS! Not to mention it builds your immunity to future poison ivy exposure. These are amazing!! I suggest giving these a try.

If you’re referencing poison ivy again, I have bad reactions and the only thing that worked for me after weeks of agony was Domeboro powder. It really dried out my skin, but that healed quickly, and got rid of the itchy rash for good!

You know, I’ve notived that you use an awful lot of plastics. I suppose you recycle, but not buying those things with so much packaging or plastic pods would really cut down on pollution. Just sayin’…

I think you are on the wrong blog . Ms Mavis is one of the most earth friendly people I know . I have no idea what you could even be referring to. Just saying…..
