I’m at a 3 day rug hooking workshop and loving every minute of it. Its my Mother’s Day gift to myself. Happy Mother’s Day to all of you who have been a mother to someone!
Any sheep lovers out there? You can adopt a sheep on Fair Isle from Rachel Challoner, crofter at Barkland Croft. It would make a great Mother’s Day gift for the wool lover in your life. This was where Mavis bought her hats when she visited Fair Isle.
Paula says
Thank you for the information about adopting a sheep. I have sponsored several sheep on the Isle of North Ronaldsay, Orkney Islands, Scotland, but have found them non responsive on updates. I am disappointed. I even visited my sheep last year. Next year I will sponsor them on Fair Isle. I just love sheep!

We spent the day interviewing nannies. I’m hoping we can line up something so I can stop worrying about childcare for when I go back to work.
Paula says
Good luck Mel! It’s such an important decision!
Mel says
Thanks! It’s crazy how competitive it is. We’re basically in a bidding war for someone since it’s so hard to find childcare here.
Jules says
This morning…painted young hazelnut trees so they do not suburn.
This afternoon… sit in the shade!
