Today is planting day. We have a big garden and hope that it really produces this summer. We are putting in 20 tomato plants, 12 various peppers, canteloupe, watermelon, squash and cucumber. Then we will plant black-eyed peas in as many rows as we can fit in. It will be a long hot day, The high today in my part of Alabama is 86. But we will be glad to have it done. We are about two weeks behind (because of a broken tiller) in our normal planting. Other than the garden I hope to get some laundry done and supper cooked. I bet I’ll sleep good tonight if I’m not aching all over from the planting. 🙂

Finally got all of our winter and ski gear put away. The space where we used to store it got turned into a basement bathroom and so it took some creative organizing to find a new place for it all. Got out swim gear – our kids start summer swim team next week. It’s warm and sunny here in Denver and starting to feel like summer ☀️

In Oregon I’m hoping to plant flowers today on between rain showers. And work on a quilt while it rains

Do you make one hole in the bottom of the cups for drainage?
When you transplant out of the dixie cups, do you just cut the cups down the side or is it easy to get the plants out?
Mavis Butterfield says
No, I don’t make a hole {but you could}. When I’m ready to transplant I just slide the plants out, that way I can reuse the cups year after year.
