I had to get up at sunrise to let our chickens out, so I took advantage of the cool and shade to get some yard work done. I just cleaned up all the pine cones and raked up all the pine needles from under our pine tree. I tried to weed the garlic, but there were some hornets by the bed that I didn’t want to mess with. So, I popped inside for a quick break, and now I need to go plant all of the basil I started. So much basil. Later, I’m going to pressure wash the siding, and I am absurdly excited about that.

That area between the sidewalk and the tree is call a “tree lawn” in many parts of the country. Trees are often planted there :). In MN it’s popular to plant flowers, but it’s best to set up a little 6-7 inch fence–we have a set of wrought iron fence. It will prevent doggie urine burn to the pretty flowers. Your tulips look amazing.

It is called parking strip here. Land is owned by the City but homeowners must maintain and keep it tidy and mowed.
