Weeding the garden today. We had several big rains this week which were excellent for the vegetables, but the weeds took advantage of the situation 🙂

I sowed coriander seeds twice and still haven’t got a single sprout. First time, a month ago. The second time I learned to crack the seeds before sowing but it’s been over a week and still nothing. Is there a trick to it?

I fried doughnuts for breakfast this morning, glazed and apple fritters. They turned out pretty great for my first try. I plan to do some weeding in the garden and finish pruning my lilac. I also need to bake more bread.

It was our 22nd wedding anniversary, so we did a day trip — went to a Mennonite grocery and bought way too much food (including sandwiches) and donuts. After a nap, we took a walk up in the mountains. It was a wonderful day!

Cleaning,purging and organizing. Its a dreary, rainy day in PNW following 2 days of sunny, gorgeous weather that I used to work on my garden. It was a good week 🙂
